Funny, but kinda hits home. My wife died in March and I was caring for MIL and she collapsed last Sunday and I called 911. They came and took care of her and asked about her legal papers, I said I had them as I was the one she wanted to handle things. They said they would just transport her to the Hospital and after I got there and they did what they did to treat her, the Doctor came out and said she was unable to breathe without assistance and I handed him her papers and he said that she has a DNR and if I wanted they would stop all treatment and I said that is why she had the papers drawn up so that the decision was already made. She died soon after they removed all assistance. And that is why I had my paperwork updated after my wife died to make sure my wishes are followed.
