And the neighborhood looks a bit sketchy. Hope he doesn’t regret it?

The very first corner, I’d be running back to my flat, for my phone… Never more than a couple of metres from it…

Got to admit, after living fifty years without one, I do feel a twinge of insecurity leaving the house without it these days.

It’s like leaving your keys and wallet at home. No phone booth could ever help with that.

Strange how we get brainwashed in certain ways . I think it was in the movie “Easy Rider” that a watch is thrown away at the beginning of the movie …..

Every once in a while I reflect on my youth when we would take off on trips with no way of communicating … and never gave it a 2nd thought. Altho… there were a few times when I was stuck in the middle of nowhere and really wished I did have a way of calling for help.

A friend of mine fell in his backyard and ended up with a compound fracture of his ankle. He was home alone and didn’t have his phone. He crawled across his yard, into his house and into his bedroom where there was a phone low enough to reach. He said he passed out from pain several times and made a mess of his carpeting. This long story is to explain why I try to remember to carry my phone whenever I leave the house.

My work requires a phone, driving around all day. When I get home and walk the dogs, I’ll often make a point of NOT having one with me.

/Then I fret about what happens if I fall and break a hip on the little trail through the woods.

    These dogs aint Lassie.
