    (quiet David Attenborough voice…)

The Comics Creator has been hard at work all day Collecting bits of feathers and string and gee-gaws To invest and embroider her otherwise empty panel Into a work of joy inducing resplendence

Let’s observe as she puts the finishing touches to her quixotic efforts.

    And * post *

    And there it is,

    Frog Applause

…in the year 1983 my local newspaper ran a short story contest about what the year 2020 was going to be like…

    … emphasis on short…

…so in order to better my chances I’d write a four part story…

…each giving the same story from a different perspective with a slightly forwarding storyline…

…the City of Akron was under siege…

    …a religious zealot was a suicide bomber…

…a psalm about blowing up the military headquarters…and finally a women in Houston having the news of the event on her kitchen TV as background noise…

    …I never sent it…

    …don’t be that schmuck…

…write, call, text to keep Frog Applause going…

…(after all we might have to do this in another couple of years when Mz. Burritt threatens to retire)….

If my lameness brings a smile to someone (a good smile, not a glas wen), I consider my day well-spent.

My disquietude’s been quite concrete for a while now.

And through it all, I lamely smile back at Ms. Teresa, Mistress of our Floating Opera.

Saw an interview with RBG in which she revealed her closet full of jabots on hangars … I guess you could say she flourished her ruffles …!

Got an answer from Gocomics. I’m thrilled. Various body parts are exploding with delight. "We have recently made the decision to phase out some features from GoComics. Most of the content that has been removed from the site can be found elsewhere (you should be able to find the content by typing your favorite cartoonist’s name into any search engine).

Thank you for being a fan of GoComics, and for your patience as we streamline our content offerings."

It was a weird day, today. I found some bushels, and a yoke for carrying them, so I headed up to the pond, picking up nuts and picking apples on the way. I had a nice load, and saved room for some fish. They were actually biting, and they were sizeable, too. During one of the brief moments when everything was quiet, just sitting there, I was startled by a memory that suddenly returned. It was about four months ago, maybe three and a half, but I remember deciding to head back up to my home in the country. That explained a lot. But I had another memory from the exact same time, and it was entirely different, involving moving sideways in time by lucid dreaming. I know now that the idea that there should be spiders and millipedes came from that memory. I’m the same person in each memory, but the world I remember in one is entirely different from the world in the other, this world. And I know where the key to the journal is, too. A lot of things are coming back. It’s quite a relief. I was worried. Now I’m more puzzled than anything else. What happened on the way here that knocked me into the ditch and blasted my brain?

What a smile in the ultimate panel! Wish we could see more of them, jabot or no. But we understand the preceding abstract disquietude, because we know of the perfidious ploy deployed and employed against Sister and against all of us loyal and patriotic Froglandians! Aux armes, citoyens! Defend Froglandia!
