    A diffraction grating [in the chocolate surface] is an optical component with a periodic structure that splits and diffracts light into several beams traveling in different directions. The emerging coloration [rainbow] is a form of structural coloration. These gratings generally have ridges or rulings on their surface rather than dark lines.

    The one about the cat is eerily similar to something I saw in a Ripley’s Believe It Or Not book about a guy whose hair changed from black to white overnight.

    My favorite YouTube channel, Tech Ingredients, has a really good explanation and demonstration of creating diffraction gratings in chocolate and hard candy.

    Hitler and Stalin were also nominated or the Nobel Peace Prize, around 1930, I think.

    I don’t really care how my chocolate looks, I care how it tastes.

    If you read some of his letters to his “friend” Hitler you may understand why he was never awarded the Peace Prize.

    Take care and gesundheit.

    For the most part, the Nobel committee is out of synch with reality. To see what I mean have a look at the previous PP winners…….

    We prefer the pink/ruby chocolate. It has moved up to #1 on our chocolate shelf. https://www.tastingtable.com/cook/national/pink-chocolate-discovery-hershey

    Of course, the prize he was nominated for was the “Full Head of Hair” Nobel prize.

    The door-to-door Chinese encyclopedia salesman won ‘Salesman of the Year’, with a prize of a free, all expenses paid 14 day trip for 4 to Wuhan.

    Gandhi deserved the prize but didn’t get it because he was a man of color. Obama got the prize and didn’t deserve it because he was a man of color. Hopefully, one day we may get this thing right.

    Would be interesting to know who aced out Gandhi for the prize those five times. I can only surmise they were all white.

    Did you mean $8 million?; BTW, the Chinese government was reported once to be entering a huge Chinese encyclopedia into a Baidu-like website.

    Wow, I didn’t know animals could get vitiligo. Or at least if they do that it affects the fur. I have that condition in my skin. Mainly in my hands. It’s one thing I hate about summer. The areas where I still have my skin pigment get a little darker making the areas where I’ve lost it more prominent. I’m very self-conscious about my hands.

    @diegot

    You can assume that but then you’d have to explain Obama’s and many other people of color that have won.
