I bet people in the land of the midnight sun (Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territory, Nunavut, Lapland, northern Russia) can relate.

If you’re not sure, go to bed.

If your mouth tastes like a day old sock, you probably just woke up. Oh, and go brush your teeth.

When I was in college one day I fell asleep in the afternoon, and when I woke up it was six o’clock. At that time of year 6am and 6pm looked pretty much the same. There were people walking down the street into the cafeteria, but I didn’t know if they were going for dinner or breakfast. Turned out I only slept a few hours and it was evening, but it was very disorienting not knowing which day it was.

My mom once called me and asked me if it was 9 pm or 9 am. (She had dementia)

I’ve yet to experience that. I have a couple times woken up from a nap and didn’t remember what day it was and if I had to show up for work that day

Wake up on your day off and think you’re late for work.

Whether or not he should be, he is clearly not “waking up”.

Before she became my ex-wife, my then wife once woke up from a nap and asked me what time was it. I told her that it was 8 o’clock. Her next words were, “Well, why aren’t you at work?” Because it’s 8 o’clock P.M.

If I wake and I hear Star Trek Deep Space Nine then it is Monday or Tuesday. If I hear Star Trek the Next Generation – it is Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. If I hear neither it is the weekend.

Husband is awake before me (and most of the night also – he is having trouble sleeping and starting before temperature jumped in the 80Fs and the bedroom ac is not working nor is the portable ac that we managed to carry up the stairs working) and he watches these shows. He never liked any of them before and did not watch them in their original runs on any regular basis, but now he watches them over and over. I will say that for a short while BBC America stopped showing them and I was so glad when they brought them back as Friends does not play as well as it did originally.
