One way to avoid not allowing Nelson to make water balloons. Selective hearing or not hearing correctly can put Nelson off the activity Earl doesn’t want him to do without actually saying, “No, you may not.”
Hot Link sandwich last night. I’ve been riding that horse All Morning! It was Delicious but I can’t wait for the ice cream I had for dessert to kick in!
My buddy two days ago wanted to know if I wanted to go the post office. I thought, why is he asking if I want pork chops? (What 50+ years of drumming for rock, and blues bands will do for you.)
While an exchange student to England, my host parent asked if I liked prawns, I thought he said prunes because of his accent and I had never heard of prawns before. I do like shrimp, though.
Go ahead old man and make all the people around you happy by getting your $6,000 aids, which cost $200 or less to make and crap out at the end of the 5-year warranty like there’s a built-in calendar. Also, you’d think the advanced digital technology would eliminate feedback whistling, well think again because my molded ear plugs sealed in sweat till the speakers died and open ones were the solution.
And here we see the problem of “he said/she said” testimony or in this case Nelson said/Grandpa heard. Each would honestly say what he said and heard, or THOUGHT he said and heard.

Stuff some prunes in a balloon and show it to Grampa. I’m sure he’ll be onboard in a flash.

I don’t think prunes help you hear.

Even with hearing aids, I provide answers to questions I was not asked about 40% of the time.
