Have YOU got a three week supply of everything you’ll need, except utilities, to stay strictly inside for that long? I recommend that you do that tomorrow if not.
It is clear now that America has the most covid-19 infected people of any nation in the world that the entire American health system is going to be engaged in combating the pandemic.
What does that mean for anybody who needs emergent treatment? Appendicitis, a heart attack, a stroke, accidental trauma, asthma – you name it.
If that happens to you — or your wife — or your kid — What then?
What indeed, chum ? What happens then is you find out what happens to the poor in Honduras when they need medical care.
Last week I left a comment that 1 in 10 tested had the virus. This week 550,000 tested, 75,000 confirmed, 1 in 8. This is not slowing down. Other than his reelection chances what is he basing this decision on. Duh, I just answered my own question.
I can understand stocking up on staples and such but grabbing all you can and hoarding is horribly selfish and greedy. I read that in Colorado they’ve been buying more guns and ammo. Now that is just frightening. Who’re they planning to shoot? Neighbors? God help us.
PINO (president-in-name-only) Trump may declare the nation open again but numerous governors have more sense and will maintain orders for people to shelter-in-place until it is their health experts determine it is safe to lift the orders.
So, what’s a few MILLION extra corpses lying around, just as long as The Velveeta Voldemort gets to pretend to be “president” for a few more years?
Seriously, folks, he DOESN’T care about you, he DOESN’T care about the elderly, he DOESN’T care about the country, he ONLY cares about HIS OWN BOTTOM LINE!! PERIOD!!
Someone was pasting a “cure” for the disease a few days ago, yet there was no place, except some far-right blogs, that reported it. That person has stopped hyping that “cure” as they must have finally realized, it was false.
It is sad to see Trump take advantage of his loyal followers, encouraging them to “pack the churches” on Easter at the very time we are seeing an explosion in the number of cases needing hospitalization. It’s even worse that he is doing it intentionally out of a callous disregard for them.
Yet my Trumpette relative is posting that all Dems must be voted out of office because she believes the nonsense that all Dems want abortions without restrictions until the moment of birth. Who cares if her hero is putting EVERYONE at risk, we need to stop ALL abortions regardless of reason. She keeps posting the BS that there is never a medical need for abortion.
n 2017, the White House’s National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense survived the transition intact. Its mission was the same as when the Obama administration established it after the Ebola epidemic of 2014: to do everything possible within the vast powers and resources of the U.S. government to prepare for the next disease outbreak and prevent it from becoming an epidemic or pandemic. One year later, the White House dissolved the office, leaving the country less prepared for pandemics like covid-19.The U.S. government’s slow and inadequate response to the new coronavirus underscores the need for organized, accountable leadership to prepare for and respond to pandemic threats. In a health security crisis, speed is essential. When this new coronavirus emerged, there was no clear White House-led structure to oversee our response, and we lost valuable time. Health systems are struggling to test patients and keep pace with growing caseloads. The specter of rapid community transmission and exponential growth is real and daunting. The job of a White House pandemics office would have been to get ahead: to accelerate the response, empower experts, anticipate failures, and act quickly and transparently to solve problems. It’s impossible to assess the full impact of the 2018 decision to disband the White House office responsible for this work, but it is clear that eliminating the office has contributed to the federal government’s sluggish domestic response. What’s especially concerning about the absence of this office today is that it was originally set up because a previous epidemic made the need for it quite clear. When asked about the slow roll-out of coronavirus tests in the U.S. on March 13, President Trump responded, “I don’t take responsibility at all.” Trump is not just responsible for it. He owns it The Trump Plague is not just his responsibility. It’s his fault.
I stocked up this morning and should be OK through the summer. Gonna be some strange meals in August, but I won’t starve. I got out a map of the state and picked a county that had no reported cases, then drove the 40 miles it takes to get there. I haven’t been around anyone for two weeks to be sure I wasn’t carrying the Trump Plague into that county. I have type A blood and I’m 75, so if you think that’s over reacting, I disagree.
