I miss being able to run to the hardware store to pick up the widgit that just broke while I was mending the faucet. To pick an example not exactly at random.
I started to shave my head cuz I don’t know when I will ever get a haircut again. Just hoping I don’t need any non viral related medical care with doctors, nurses, and medical centers stressed out to the max as this thing continues to roll across the land, likely in multiple waves.
@Walrus Gumbo: as useful as air brakes on a tortoise was another apt comparison to Buttercup’s handling of the current health crisis. Also applies to his whole term in office so far. But wait!! There’s more!!
It is encouraging to see that people are ignoring Trump and talking the advice of people who actually know what they are talking about.
Social distancing seems to be working.
The Federal Government, under Trump is impotent. The States are doing a much better job. My local community is doing even better and we the people are doing the best job of all.
I am not saying, “Don’t worry be happy,” but I am saying that we deserve to give ourselves a pat on the back. This is definitely a grass-roots campaign and together, as a people, we can do more than our government ever can. It’s always been this way. It’s just more evident now.
Except for my barber and some restaurants, I can go everywhere I normally go. I don’t normally go to “non-essential” places. I am supporting the local restaurants with take-out.
This weekend I will go to the hardware store to buy charcoal. If I can’t eat out, I’ll cook out.
OT: Did anyone catch Trump’s whatever-he-does-at-6-PM last night?
He looked and sounded heavily sedated. If you ignore the content, you could use his speech to put insomniacs to sleep. It would not surprise me if history will prove that Trump is on a regimen of drugs used to treat mental illness.
Nobody can be as maniacal and depressing as Trump without chemical help.
I miss the library! We just got a notice that our county library will be closed “indefinitely”. I also miss going to church, but we only went there once a week; we were at the library twice that often.
I miss having a competent president and administration who actually made plans for something like this and then the present ‘sadistic, malignant narcissist’ decided to do nothing to help his country. What really breaks my heart is the polls show his approval rating going up.
I was on antibiotics for a week-plus, so I wasn’t drinking as of St. Patrick’s Day. I’m off the antibiotics now, but the bars are closed, and I only drink in bars. So I’m probably alcohol-free for the duration…

I miss sitting and reading at my favorite coffee shops. Oh, cream cheese danish, I knew it was too good to last.

I would say the most non essential component to this entire issue is Trump himself. He is as useful as a screen door on a submarine!

Last week my mom wanted a shampoo and set at the salon, she was told “we’re hair today but gone tomorrow.”

I love hearing Mr. Trump trumpeting he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. It’s so funny because he’s getting exactly the credit he deserves.

Thank goodness here in Texas gun shops are viewed as essential businesses. You need a lot of ammo in case someone tries to steal your toilet paper.
