John Bolton, the guy that dismantled the NSC pandemic response team when he became National Security Adviser? Truly one of the most brilliant minds of our time.

Lawless Barr lies, cheats and does whatever it takes to obstruct evidence to protect a president he was hired to protect. Barr did the same thing when he was hired as Attorney General by George H.W. Bush to cover up Bush’s ties to drug-running Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega and the Iran-Contra scandal (as referenced in today’s Doonesbury ’toon), and it is the same thing he was hired to do — and is doing — for Trump. It is what Barr does.

Trump lamented, “Where’s my Roy Cohn” [Cohn was the lawyer for “Tailgunner Joe” McCarthy of the infamous Red Scare, who later worked for Trump’s racist father and then for Trump prior to Cohn’s death], and Barr’s hand shot up in the air, waving wildly, “Here I am, here I am!”

The Attorney General is (supposed to be) the nation’s “top cop,” and (is supposed to) represent “we the people,” NOT “he the wannabe dictator.” The Attorney General is not the White House attorney, who represents the office of the Presidency, or the president’s personal attorney, who represents the president’s individual interests. Barr has completely abdicated his actual duties and has become complicit in the obstruction of justice. Like Nixon’s first attorney general, John Mitchell, Barr needs to be removed from office and jailed.

Barr needs to be impeached, convicted and dis-BARRed.

Nice product placement for npr in this strip. More people should listen to it, a sane voice in frenetic times.

Something should be done to curtail Presidential pardon power, or subject it to oversight. It’s ridiculous that a President can pardon his own cronies. Bush should not have been allowed to pardon Weinberger. Ford should not have been allowed to pardon Nixon.

The November Election should indeed be interesting given all that has gone on. Given the pandemic, no one should be queuing up to vote, should all be vote by mail. However, there is a funding crisis for the USPS! CALL YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REPS! DON’T LET THE USPS DIE! GOP WANTS THE USPS TO DIE BY THIS SUMMER!

The whole Trump maladministration should be removed for the good of the country.

I am sick and tired of the way the Republicans are trashing the USA.

That’s what happens when we elect presidents without law degrees. Clinton and Obama didn’t need some mouthpiece to cover up their messes; they had the expertise to do it themselves.

I am not a Trumpeter but it seems to me that anyone who works for a boss that the popular kids don’t like will have everything they do torn apart and criticized. It makes them mad and it makes them meaner. So the fight goes on.

Couldn’t agree more, but let’s wait until the DoJ investigation of the collusion between the FBI, CIA, & DNC to produce the ‘Russiagate’ hoax and the ‘Steele Dossier’ used to subvert the FISA court into authorizing illegal wiretaps on the Trump campaign is finished. Whole stinking government needs a thorough housecleaning. Problem with Trudeau is his ‘see only GOP issues’ blinders while excluding the Democratic Party’s equally egregious behavior.

I’m not seeing equally egregious behavior on the part of Democrats and it is that line of thinking that brought us the tragedy of Trump in the first place. Hillary is intelligent and competent, a far cry from what we have endured in recent years, regardless of whether you would have always agreed with her 100%. We now have a bonafide crisis. Lives are at stake! Healthcare workers are being treated as if they are expendable! Given the continued disastrous response to something in which we had a heads up of a couple MONTHS, and refusal to use Defense law to commandeer supplies, I don’t see how Trump can not be in prison right now. People are dying! It doesn’t have to be this way!

Report from Wisconsin, where Tuesday’s election is still on:

Let’s be blunt. Republicans hate it when people vote.

Their loathing for democracy was most clearly stated by right-wing guru Paul Weyrich, who laid out the case for voter suppression back in 1980: “I don’t want everybody to vote. … Our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”

Acting on his advice, Wisconsin Republicans have done everything in their power to throw roadblocks in the path of voting: blatant gerrymandering to dilute opposing votes; restricting hours of voter registration; limiting the areas where volunteers can register voters or the times when DMV offices can take your picture; moving primary elections from September to August so college students can’t vote; closing or constantly changing polling locations (especially in minority areas), preferably to places without public transportation; and of course the notorious and completely unnecessary photo-ID requirement.

To Republicans the current COVID global pandemic was like manna from heaven. It could be lethally dangerous for strangers to cluster in groups of 10 or more, so they could let nature do their dirty work for them by scaring citizens away from the polls. But only if the election were held as originally scheduled.

That’s why, given a special session of the Legislature during which they could have postponed the election (as 15 other states have done) or adopted a sensible alternative like all-mail-in voting (as Gov. Evers proposed), they literally didn’t give a minute’s consideration to either. “Vote if you dare” was their attitude.

So if you’re a public-spirited citizen who wants to vote — or an elderly poll worker who’d like to help you do it — remember: Republicans don’t just want to stop you, they want to kill you if you try.

Name ONE criminal that Obama had on the job. For Trump, I can name a bunch, either convicted or plea-bargained: Flynn, Manafort, Cohen, Stone. Trump criminals who have neither been convicted nor plea-bargained: Sessions (perjury), Kavanaugh (perjury), Ross (perjury), Don Jr. (collusion), Jared (collusion), Barr (perjury before he was in the Trump maladministration). And, of course, as even a lobotomized amoeba would know, Trump will never be allowed by his lawyers (whether they are criminals or not) to testify under oath, because he is simply INCAPABLE of telling the truth, and of course would commit as many felony crimes as sentence fragments he uttered.

Would the world be better off if a bit of WWII’s Morganthau Plan was applied to the USA, and the USA was split into several pieces barred from ever again uniting? With the West (Left) coast in one nation, Texas in another, New England in a third, and so on, so that the president and policies of any one of them would matter much less.
