“I MAY?” is such a fun, teasing way to dig at someone when you pretend they gave you permission. This is such great writing by Watterson.

The comics will be even more comic after Hobbes is done with them! :D

Calvin needed to throw open the door like usual after he placed the decoy. Perhaps that would have worked better.

Mom’s gonna be PO’ed when she finds that shortened broom.

Resonates with the way Calvin treats Rosalyn…

Maybe it’s time to start learning something.

In panel 12, Calvin might have gotten into the house if he had pushed the door instead of trying to pull it…

Man plans and God laughs. (Or Hobbes laughs, in this case.)

Having smart friends is a challenge. Hang in there buddy. He was going to mess with your comics anyway.

God, I love C&H vignettes like this!

If I have said it once, I have said it a million times….I want there to be a live action Calvin and Hobbes movie where all the things he imagines actually happen. But I’m not settled on whether he is the only one to see it or if others see it but cannot pinpoint why. (plot twist)

Calvin’s plan had a few flaws, which is why it spectacularly backfired. One big one was that he left the front door closed; he should’ve pushed it open and jumped out of the way when saying “I’M HOME!” And regarding that, given how the previous pouncing strip went, maybe if he said “Home sweet home!” it would’ve triggered Hobbes to pounce.

Calvin realised he has taken Hobbes far lightly than He desires.

Seriously psychotic.
