My mother solemnly told me that I was descended from American Indians on both sides of my family: Cherokee and Choctaw. Then last Christmas my wife got me one of those Ancestry kits. Turns out that I am 79% English/Welsh and 21% Irish/Scot and no American Indian at all.

If the two things that are pictured in the above comic are the best that the GOP can come up after years of opposition research against Elizabeth Warren, then she should be able to sail over the very low bar set by Donald Trump.

With Chip’s spin he’s angling to be Trump’s press secretary. Warren was told she had Cherokee blood in her – just like 1 in 4 Okies claimed when I lived in Tulsa. She never used it to get a job and only reported it when the college said it would help them, not her. The school board offered her a renewal of her teaching job before they knew she was pregnant. I am no fan of Warren, but Chip, there is no substance behind your tired and discredited spin.

Chip must think that being a pregnant teacher is an offense to everybody because, you know (whispers) “sex”. And of course, anybody who dresses up as a native American (caricature) must be Elizabeth Warren who has never even once (so far as I know) dressed that way, and only claimed her native heritage based on family tradition. Which turned out to be at the very least unverifiable, and at best showed the story to be probably true.

And, doing a bit of research, I see that she claimed her teaching position wasn’t renewed because she was pregnant, whereas the nay-sayers are claiming she quit. Approximately 45 years ago.
