And Goldie returns with a dangerous play! Not asleep on the porch after all – oh no, Goldie’s working her case herself. Very nice.

Oh, drat! Now we’ll never know what Louie was going to say! :-O

Wow! I did not expect Goldie to barge in and startle everyone like that! She is magnificent!

Well, Old Mag is definitely not a cat.

So who got skunk-sprayed in that little adventure?

I knew Goldie would show up and save the day! You go, girl!

So. Louie is poofed, and Old Mag is hissing. There aren’t any skunks or raccoons around here, so I have to ask, is that actual behavior for them?

Though a poofed tail on a skunk would be the least of your concerns, I’m sure…

It’s not been done yet, so I gotta do it!!! SQUEEEEEELLLLL! Mag’s toe beans!!!!! SQUEEEEE!!

This confrontation between Goldie and Old Mag will undoubtedly lead to an undoing even more distressing than the noisome effluvium emanating from Louie.

Now that was unexpected!

Everyone ran away from the skunk’s stink. But only Goldie and the Raccoon are still there, not affected by that stinky smell. How?

So Goldie has arriv…ED! The lovely lady knows how to make an entrance! (In FRONT of Louie, not behind)

Those living on the street are probably used to it.

I wonder if Mag is the reason for Goldie’s notched ear? She is a fearless girl… maybe they got into a tussle.

Off topic.And just in case anyone is wondering whether Australia really is the sort of place it is reputed to be, I will tell you that I received a $1 coin in my change today.

When Australia converted to decimal currency, the reverse of the coins featured images of some of the slightly less venemous Australian animals. When the $1 coin was introduced, it had kangaroos on the reverse. Commemmoration issues had reverse designs of famous persons, anniversaries of major events (Federation, end of WW2, etc.) and the like.

The coin I received today featured the Zooper Dooper.

Beatrix takes the lead.

Old Mag seems to be sitting very still. Does she think that Goldie is using a gom jabbar? Maybe she thinks that Goldie has some Bene Gesserit training?

Or, maybe she just has some experience with feline claws.

I don’t see Tommy or Beatrix anywhere – I hope Louie didn’t nail them if he sprayed, and that they have just ducked down somewhere with the robber mice to watch the proceedings.

Let’s get this trash party investigation started!

In the third panel, is that Tommy’s tail in the middle right of the screen? I think it’s too big to be Beatrix’s little kitten tail.

Old Mag can do a great Snowball Taggart/Lupin sulking frown.

Goldie certainly is brave.

Goldie is taking things in her own paws. This is quite an enjoyable arc.

Hey, I thought Goldie had green eyes . . . with green eyeshadow. Now her eyes are gold, with green eyeshadow?

Okay, so who’s going to snag the image of Goldie in panel three as their avatar?

It’s not the size of the cat in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the cat. Go, Goldie, Go!!!

For some reason all I can think this morning, seeing this strip again, is “Puck! Puck! Shocking developments!” (From the strip where the Woman has bought Elvis a sweater, still an all-time favorite of mine.)

Well, so much for going undercover…

Since we don’t know what Louis was about to say, perhaps he was just about to announce Goldie’s presence so the raccoons would not be defensive. Maybe he wanted them to listen to her.

I’m surprised Goldie isn’t running from the smell. Louie probably dropped one heck of a stink bomb there

Gotta love the element of surprise. Way to go, Goldie!

Love the bailing chickadees. I also wonder if Goldie knows Louie, or at least knows of him.

Even the chickadees left! Is the cloud-like stuff around Goldie in panel three just the dust kicked up from the fast exit of racoons and adventurers? Or is it the dreaded effluvium of Louie? Time may tell.

In her adventures, Goldie must have wandered into a theatre playing “Captain Marvel”

And just like that, the best-laid plans go poof!

I don’t know what’s going on, but it’s as exciting as all get out.

Goldie, that’s just stupid. Forget about startling Louie, stopping a vile raccoon from leaving is sure to bring trouble.

Sadly I fear that goldie is not going find the answers she is looking for.
