Gorrell is hysterical about the coastal cities being submerged. (it’s just all of those Chinese ships backing into port)

The planet isn’t hysterical, when we polish off civilization and most species, she’ll just hit “reboot”, like post asteroid. But the dinosaurs couldn’t stop the asteroid, which humans are making plans for, while idiots who don’t accept science rule, for now.

The problem is that there are far too many people who’ve either never heard of climate change (think of someone who’s eking out a living in Africa somewhere)… or people who actually push the idea this is in fact hysteria.

I suggest a little thought experiment: Imagine that we spend $Trillions cleaning up the environment, cutting not only our own CO₂ emissions but putting programs into place to help those folks who’re eking by… And $Trillions more making sure that it all works. And then (by some miracle of Science) we discover that 90%+ of all the scientists were actually wrong and all we get out of it is a cleaner, healthier, happier Earth, and the billions of people who live near sea level can actually stay where they are. Is that actually a bad thing?

The hysteria I keep seeing is from the corporations that stand to lose money because what they do is what’s causing the problems. They are too short-sighted and downright lazy to innovate and create new opportunities to enrich themselves and preserve the planet in a way that will sustain their future customers.

I’ll bet whaling ships had the exact same attitude when the whales started disappearing and oil was discovered in wells underground.

Mr. Gorrell, you can keep your head in … the sand all you want. Global climates have risen to record breaking levels the past few years. Destructive storms have increased. Ignore and belittle all you want, just get out of the way of efforts to counter what is occuring.

Oh here’s one you haven’t done in a while, copy/pasting something from google image search. In this case a honeywell thermostat:

    https://www.google.com/search?biw=1065&bih=754&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=c_qJXajdNOSJggfs576oBQ&q=honeywell+round+thermostat&oq=honeywell+round+thermostat&gs_l=img.3..0l3j0i7i30j0i8i30j0i30j0i24l4.39936.42760..42893…0.0..0.93.1072.16……0….1..gws-wiz-img…….0i8i7i30.NzTPUpQwuRc&ved=0ahUKEwjo4umOqunkAhXkhOAKHeyzD1UQ4dUDCAc&uact=5#imgrc=Kuax3o9hcEFlGM:

Not a stretch to say you’re too lazy to draw Greta Thunberg.

Do you have ANY EVIDENCE climate change isn’t happening? LET’S SEE IT!

Seems like no one on the right has any, so they attack the people trying to help.

    Calling Gretta mentally ill

saying that the kids protesting so that they’ll have a habitable planet to live on are just protesting so they can skip school

Saying it’s just too expensive (how expensive do you think it’s going to be to rebuild the Bahamas? no imagine a storm like that hitting florida. now imagine that happening EVERY YEAR.)

But what you and the GOP don’t have is ANY EVIDENCE whatsoever. The only thing i’ve heard is “oh this is just part of a cycle, the climate has changed before” forgetting that while yeah sure the earth could eventually correct itself, but that process takes thousands of years, and how can you be sure humans and animals can survive or adapt to it?

I don’t know if you actually believe any of this or you just draw what your rightwing clients tell you to, because no one else will pay for a cartoon that’s just a google image search of a thermostat.

West, there have always been meteorites, but when an asteroid is detected that will hit the earth and it is over 2 miles in diameter, do you just sit back and say “nothing will change, meteorites have been hitting the earth since the beginning of the planet.”? Human activity is effecting the atmosphere.

It’s not complicated. We all know what happens to a closed car in the sun. The sun reacts to pollutants in the air the same way it reacts to a pane of glass. What about this is too hard for you to understand?

An even bigger problem is that the Nitwit-in-Chief seems to actually believe that the climate can be controlled by a little ol’ thermostat in the Oval Office. Maybe someone could just give him an oval dial with rattles inside? If he doesn’t eat it, it might distract him until 2020.

Now that human-induced climate change is hard to deny, those that wish to deny do so at the top of their voice, hoping that hyperbole will substitute for reason.

I especially like the journey of the Malizia II

Greta sails over on the green zero emissions yacht and gives her rousing speeches in NYC. She refused to fly because of the carbon footprint it would generate.

And we subsequently discover that 2 crew members will have to fly from Europe to NYC in order to safely sail the boat home.

    The hypocrisy is stunning.
