What in the hell is wrong with this president!? Fighting and insulting a dead senator, and losing. Then, in front of an audience, starting it up again because…why? Because he just can’t shut up due to some mental unbalance? Can someone so thoughtless and insecure that he can’t ever be wrong or apologize keep all his supporters without question?
I think it’s very clear why this reprehensible conduct is occurring. John McCain is dead. He can’t answer back anymore. But this obsession and ongoing disparagement of the dead (and by extension, others like the deceased) is cowardly. But as a cowardly draft evading affluent white misogynistic male, that’s much safer than a living adversary. (And his base just loves his “plain speaking.”)
I am currently reading a book, written by a professor of Psychology, Justin A. Frank, MD. Hie thee to the library and see if they have a copy of Trump on the Couch. It explains a LOT.
So, why do ANY VETERANS or CURRENT SERVICE MEMBERS Still support that fat coward? And YES, HE’S A CHICKEN-S#!T COWARD! And if I could contain my nausea at being that close, I’d tell him that TO HIS FACE!
@Masterskrain, Hitler took advantage of an existing system and people who were trained to obey, which has some similarities to #45. While he thought, like #45, that he was smarter than all his generals, in fact he was relying on the finely-tuned German military machine he never fully understood and wound up destroying.
In terms of personality, #45 resembles both Mussolini and Hitler in terms of his narcissism, except that he is far more of a coward (Hitler was decorated for bravery under fire, after all). And what he has succeeded in doing is seizing the reins of a process that has been in development for years now to propagandize the American people into believing the lies of a small cadre of wealthy people who care nothing for America, its principles, or its people. Up until recently, Republicans and Democrats knew a lot of this was happening, but counted on things like “basic decency” and “the way things are done around here” to keep things from going off the rails. #45 doesn’t care. He got in here by accident, and is going to do the only thing he knows how to do: rip off everyone in sight as long as he can get away with it. He has no interest in pretending that we have a civil political system, he’s not a member of it, and what he has done is rip the veil off our actual American political realities. Sadly, too many Americans neither understand this nor care.
Is anyone close to Prez Thugga-Slug trying to talk to him about his self-destructive rants and twitters? Or have they learned by now that is like running into a wall at 60 mph?
Among other things Trump is mad because he never got a thank you for allowing the McCain funeral. He allowed the family to use military planes to go back and forth from Arizona. That’s it! He had nothing to do with anything else. George Conway is spot on. NUTS.
For those who weren’t yet born 30+ years ago, here’s the reference that Steve was paraphrasing: Republican Dan Quayle had his words used against him during the 1988 vice presidential debates after he likened his political experience to that of John F. Kennedy. Democratic opponent Lloyd Bentsen’s response: “I served with Jack Kennedy. I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you’re no Jack Kennedy.”
Unfortunately, George H. W. Bush and Quayle prevailed over Michael Dukakis and Bentsen. Bush the Adequate was later heard to remark that Quayle was “like one of my own sons”, and I guess we eventually figured out which one.
By the way, I DO NOT in any way think that McCain was a saint. I didn’t like a lot of his voting record, he was implicated in the Keating 5 scandal, and MOST UNFORGIVABLY, he unleashed Klondike Barbie on the rest of the world outside of Alaska!
Doubling and tripling down on a stupid, insane comment is a tactic of those who believe repeating a lie convinces people it’s true. It’s unhinged but, on the other hand, a powerful use of a public platform. Sure, he’s deranged, but like many who experience various forms of mental derangement, crazy but shrewd as a fox! Very, very dangerous!
trump is thrashing around, because he’s terrified of the future. Like a rabid raccoon, he’s biting and spitting at anything and everything. There’s no cure for a rabid animal, he’ll just thrash and snap, until he’s gone.
Well done. You brought tears to my eyes. I didn’t always agree with John McCain’s decisions, however, he was a patriot and wanted the best for the United States. Can’t say that about Trump.

Maybe Trump has a sixth sense and actually sees dead people, and argues with them.

Well, military school is almost like combat.
So, I am every bit as much of a war hero as that other guy.

And them Congs never captured ME.
So I’m a lot smarter.
And I have words — the very best words.
