Oddly, it likes Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain.

So they’d have to be more advanced to get here, so do they teach us, or just train us.

I consider surprise an essential element in humour but that never has been a problem with this strip (thanks as always for the laughs Mr. Miller)!

I see no reason to drop Wiley from any newspaper. It’s a opinion shared by many readers and non-readers, and he is as entitled to state it as any other citizen. The fact that it was in a public forum does not change that.

Seems the after-effects of the Sunday strip might be the intent of the guy’s comment about being surprised.

After almost three mind-numbing years of listening to and watching the antics of The Orange Emperor and his minions, there are no surprises. We’ve become inured to a daily stream of lies, scandals, cupidity, and stupidity. We’re no longer shocked nor awed.

We are now simply detached and disillusioned.

All the “grays” that show up in my local watering hole don’t have “mouths”, but they are still able to enjoy a tasty beverage. A little strange at first, but well worth it having them on your team on trivia night.

The Chicago Tribune is the latest cowardly paper to drop Non Sequitur from the Sunday comics. They dropped it from the daily paper several years ago. Here’s the complete act of cowardice from the publisher: To our readersIn Sunday’s comics section, the “Non Sequitur” cartoon by Wiley Miller contained a vulgar message that was hidden in an illustration.Andrews McMeel Syndication, which distributes the cartoon, apologized Monday for missing the offensive wording in its editing process. “If we had discovered it, we would not have distributed the cartoon without it being removed,” the statement said. “We apologize to Non Sequitur’s clients and readers for our oversight.”Miller, in a statement, said he had prepared the cartoon with the vulgar message several weeks ago, intended to remove the message before the cartoon was distributed but neglected to do so. However, in a Twitter post Sunday, the cartoonist wrote: “Some of my sharp-eyed readers have spotted a little Easter egg from Leonardo Bear-Vinci. Can you find it?”The Chicago Tribune considers this a breach of trust with our readers and will halt publication of the “Non Sequitur” cartoon. The Tribune’s comic pages are prepared in advance, so readers may see “Non Sequitur” cartoons for one more week.— Bruce Dold, publisher & editor-in-chief

If you love Non Sequitur, and I’m assuming you do if you are following these events, please use whatever social media you have available to keep this cartoon out there.

If you still get some form of daily newspaper contact the paper and let them know you would like to see this in print again. The cartoonist needs the syndication to keep on creating, it is our loss if he succumbs. Plus, Ihavr to see what happens with Nebbish!

IMVPO, anything that the brain can not recognize is invisible to us. Our brains ignore that which is not familiar. So, an alien walks into a bar and no one sees it as eyes just slide past. Which is also how a trained person can hide in the middle of an empty field and not be seen(During an exercise in a school for USMC scout-snipers, 20 of them, wearing Ghillie suits, managed to hide in a field of grass no more than 36 inches tall. When the instructor called the end of the exercise, they all stood up, it was amazing how close they had gotten to the instructor. The eye/brain is also quite capable of ignoring totally still objects, which is how a trained person can hide on an open beach.)

I was so excited that Wiley drew another coloring page that I immediately copied and pasted it to color another time. So I got a copy of the original! But I think I will remove the bad words before I print it. We all make choices that are not always the best. Ah, such is human nature. And basically I like the nature of Wiley’s basic humanity!

The whole concept of “bad words” is illogical. It is magickal thinking to interpret it that way. Unless the worlds command magick for you otherwise words describe things. They cannot be “bad”.
