Ludwig on Arlos head brings some bitter-sweet memories. My feline pal Dick had cancer and left last spring. He used to sleep on my pillow wrapped around my head and occasionally washing my hair…

As we say in Minnesota, there is no bad weather, just bad clothing. It is all about perspective!

I’m seriously beginning to wonder whether Gene, Mary Lou, Meg, and Gus have permanently left this strip. Arlo and Janis haven’t even remarked on getting a card from them this Christmas.

About 3 am, I was awakened by a small dog whining. One of my wife’s pillows had fallen on the dog stairs and Honey couldn’t get up on the bed. I removed the pillow and Honey jumped up and settled on my side of the bed. For a 16 lb dog, she is very heavy. Been up since then.

This perfectly captured what it looks like around my house in winter and my mood about it. Great job, Jimmy.

Michigan has too much hot weather for me, wind, snow and 20 degrees is my favorite weather.

Possum I love those animals. They are North America’s version of the kangaroo. They are marsupial not a rodent they are very good for the environment they eat fleas, and ticks that bother our pets. They are harmless carry NO diseases so please stop killing them.

Funny how the body acclimates. I’m originally from the northeast and went to school on Lake Ontario where wind chills reached -60 below. When I’d go home at Xmas, if it was 20 degrees out, I would be outdoors in a T-shirt. Fast forward to today. I live in Florida…it’s in the 50s this morning and I took a walk wearing 4 layers of clothing, mittens and a ski cap. How far I have come (or fallen?). LOL

Living in a Gulf Coast state, we see very little snow (almost impossible for Christmas). Instead the weather can be damp, muddy. gray, and, to us, cold. That can be quite depressing. I think that is what Jimmy Johnson is depicting in today’s strip. It definitely shows why we desire a bright, festive holiday at this time of year.

In Central Maine it was almost 60F and raining yesterday and today it is 25F in the sun. If you don’t like the weather just wait a minute!

The AVERAGE temperature in Maritime Canada from Jan to March is -25F with an average weekly snowfall of 1.5 FEET of snow…sometimes that much three times a week..most weeks. Most of us don’t miss any work. We use the snowblower to get out of the driveway and use it to get back in the driveway after work.
