And will Luann be “Roped” into accompanying Axel and Fay on this “date?”

Fay is talking weird. So Axel has a helicopter mom too. Lucky for him, he has an older brother. Most siblings don’t care about things like parents do. From my experience, siblings are likely to invite their friends and send young siblings with their own peer somewhere else so they could enjoy hanging out with their own friends. Axel’s brother is likely to get a date of his own and send Axel and Fay to see a different movie. Hey, what if Axel’s older brother is AARON??? After all, both have letters A in their first names.

I wonder if Jack is his brother…….

Fay’s Mom hasn’t approved yet. I suspect Fay doesn’t get loose outside of school hours.

Maybe Axel’s brother is “Hair.”

I think the brother is 5 years old, great age for deterrent of any fun. If he were and older brother he would let Axel get away with too much.

Is his bro a new character? I guess so. The only known character who somewhat resembles him is Nil from the art school. And its highly improbable…

So i was wrong Axel wasn’t in trouble he just has parents that are super strict which is not a bad thing to have.

Thenceforth, Fay’s description of her dates with Axel will involve the phrase ‘not as exciting as it sounds’.

Axel looks rather like a younger version of Nil. So if we’re looking at a double date who might Nil invite? Why, the young lady he has seen naked and whose elbow he has sketched! Will Tara introduce Fay to the world of television hijacking and no panties?

His brother will be Toni’s ex. I can’t remember his name.

Getting the feeling that we know his brother and Luann will date him.

Fay, you’re going to have to tell your mother, who will either say no or demand to come along. But more likely she will say no.

Maybe his brother is “Naked Jack”? LOL

So since Fay’s mom didn’t even want her to be in a play with a boy, how is she gonna react to the idea of a date with one? Fay may be getting ahead of herself here.

And what’s the over-under on Axel’s brother being a preexisting character?

No matter what happens next, no rational adult would have done it.

This is the theme to “Luann” boiled down into a single sentence.

The next generation flying solo? What are they…7th or 8th graders? I want to see the next generation Tiffany.

Who was it suggested Axel’s bro might be Nil? Doesn’t fit with the idea of “super strict” parents, tho’.

I’m siding with the idea that Luann will be roped onto attending too and we’ll get a new and interesting dating partner. It would be interesting to have a Jack versus (?) dynamic for Luann.

Piro would be a surprise, but that sets up a weird dynamic with Luann and Bernice (who has all but disappeared from the strip).

I have a bad feeling about this…

Last Saturday I gave the odds as 50-50 for someone else as chaperone. If the “date” goes on, Luann will be involved.

Whoever the Bro is, we may be seeing the onset of a summer-long story arc.

P.S. I have been “The brother” for my younger brother several times. My job was to occupy his date’s younger sisters that also sent by her mama.

If you look at it Fay is not thrilled with the idea of any chaperone, especially her “strict” mother, while lo and behold Axel has strict parents as well. SHe would rather have him all to her hormone charged self, and there might be a bit of control issue there, but that is too far away to speculate. I am vindicated that Axel liked her all along, and they are interested in the same things. By the way did anyone get that Axel would not mind Fay’s mom as a chaperone, while Fay is NO WAY!! As to the brother, I am smelling a double date of some kind with someone we know who is interested in Luann, or who Luann could be interested in. One thing for sure, it can’t be Quill, I bet Jack.

This strip has been taken over by a peripheral character. Totally boring character at that.

I am glad that Axel “needs” a chaperone. I think that is appropriate at 13. I am not liking that Fay is FURTHER disregarding her mother. She is digging a bigger and bigger hole for herself with her subterfuge. I am not pleased with her character that she is trying to sneak this through without having her mother aware. This not only further makes last week’s disregard of Mrs. Garcia by both Luann and Fay worse…. it has the potential to make Mrs. Garcia more angry at BOTH Luann and Fay.

Today, Fay seems much shorter again.

@PRO FROM DOVER: Toni’s ex is Dirk and he’s married with kids. Not likely to be available for chaperone duty…

@PIPE TOBACCO: At this point, Fay seems to be defying her mother all by herself, so I’m not sure that Mrs. or Ms. Garcia will be able to blame this on Luann…

Today is the first day that Axel’s brother is mentioned. So no one could have suggested who his brother might be before today.

Okay here’s something we might be overlooking here. Axel’s parents INSIST that he has a “Chaperone” when he goes out. So, WHERE was His “Chaperone” on 11/02/2017?

One more thing. If the “brother” is going along to “Chaperone,” then WHY would Luann need to go, unless:

1) Mrs. Garcia finds out, doesn’t trust her daughter going out with two males and INSISTS that Luann go?

2) All of the above PLUS, the brother is an established male character that Team Evans wants to surprise us with?

3) Or the “brother” is a Brand New Male character and New Love Interest for Luann (Or Possibly others) that Team Evans wants to introduce us to?

Score one for the Evans Team. Greg and Karen have many of us eagerly anticipating who Axel’s brother might turn out to be and what plot twist might hang on his identity.
