To me, “glamping” is any camping trip that does not involve carrying everything to a wilderness campsite, setting up separate places to cook and sleep, hanging the backpack high on a branch, and seeing the stars without any glow from human caused light sources and waking to birdsong.
There is no such thing as bad weather; just inappropriate clothing. Camping is great in sunshine, in fog, in rain, in snow…….it’s only miserable when it’s 80° and up (then you get into inappropriate lack of clothing).
Reminds me of a trip on the Rangely Lakes to Metallic Island in 1949. We were in a very heavy long canvas canoe with three campers, food box in center, & 10 gallon metal milk container. I looked ahead & saw a wall of white moving towards us. A down pour with hail. Donned ponchos & paddled as hard as we could. Great adventure for a 14 year old.
