So, we finally get an explanation of why his mask looks about the same as his face without a mask when he was in prison.

Tracy, say what you will, but you are not going to be able to talk him out of this. He is determined and, as JonahHex said, confident!

Tracy is the consummate hero- even under these circumstances, he is showing compassion to his enemy.

… his mention of a “condition” makes me think it is incurable and fatal and that he wants to go out fighting !

I doubt that it’s anything fatal. Yesterday, he referred to it as a “masterpiece” permanently etched upon his countenance. He is clearly pleased with this “condition” which he caused himself. I don’t think there is any melancholy.

Not to be a spoilsport, but a “Mozambique Drill” (two rounds to the chest, one to the head) would put paid to Abner at this point. Seems to me Tracy shoulda oughta brought his department issue roscoe on vacation (or gotten one in Europe from Warbucks Worldwide)… ;-)

Ok so the question of Abner’s real face is confirmed in todays strip. The way he looked when Rikki came to visit him in prison to excute his escape IS indeed the way he looks… tho since he DOESNT say “deteriorated” today and instead uses the words “accelerated” I’m thinking much like Neil Wick said… he doesn’t mind the outcome… tho the phrase “it became anecessity” might hint that his intentions took a turn for the worse ad progressed faster than he anticipated.

MY thought is this…. obviously Tracy and Abner will throw hands, and more than likely Abner will go over the railing with no trace of the body afterwards (leaving an eventual return wide open for later on) and Tracy holding Abner’s mask… which he will bring back to Tracyville and hand over to Rikki upon her apprehension (or to coerce her to ‘turn states evidence’ for a lesser sentence on her own) which will give us one last panel of Rikki longingly holding a picture of her and Abner from when they met in college, with Abner’s TRUE FACE (before the transformations) finally revealed to the reader

Remember when Rikki asked Abner to promise that he’d get back alive, and he was careful to not make that promise? He has little concern for his own safety, which makes him all the more dangerous.

From the looks of the last couple of days Abner plans to bore Tracy into a coma then throw him into the falls. Yes guys I know that is not what is going to happen. I’m thinking we are being setup for one heck of a Sunday.

OK I must have missed it; how did Abner know IN ADVANCE Tracy had a vacation planned to Europe; I get that he followed him around there, but had to know in advance for travel arrangements, ordering that special travel box and even how did he get out of the airport when he got there. Also, was it a MOLE inside police HQ that tipped him???

More great art with the mask in hand, Tracy in shadow, and the overhead shot to reinforce the danger of the falls. I think the mask in prison could have been easily been accomplished with bribes to the Warden and select guards. Instead, we learn that Abner’s face has deteriorated considerably since his “release.” Good thing Rikki’s affections are more than skin deep. As for knowledge of Tracy’s itinerary, I recall that Rikki is quite skilled with computers. Even Warbucks’ private jet has to submit a flight plan. To hack hotel logs may be child’s play for Rikki.

Could this be a re-enactment of Sherlock at Rauchenbach falls where he supposedly dies and goes “underground” for ten years leaving fans wondering all that time?? Could Mike & Joe do this to their fans?? To Be Continued…

If Kadaver has Hanson’s disease (Leprosy), it is now curable according to Wikipedia:

    .

Leprosy is curable with a treatment known as multidrug therapy (MDT).2 Treatment for paucibacillary leprosy is with the medications dapsone and rifampicin for six months.4 Treatment for multibacillary leprosy consists of rifampicin, dapsone, and clofazimine for 12 months.4 These treatments are provided free of charge by the World Health Organization.2 A number of other antibiotics may also be used.4

If Pequod’s explanation is the flight plan logs, and Rikki hacking them, that is plausible, but the flight plan may not have been logged that far in advance, and it is a private jet, would not have shown passenger names, would it? Joe and Mike may be explaining this in a future installment///

And Tracy charges Abner who has stupidly turned his back on his enemy and shoves him over the railing, thus ending the story on Sunday. Tracy’s report that Abner revealed a debilitating disease before jumping to his presumed death. Seriously, I understand the old villain pontificating trope, but Tracy is built like a linebacker/safety so being unarmed doesn’t mean not dangerous.

Okay, guys; enough of this idle chit-chat. Have at it, and may the best man win!

I am reminded of having read, long ago, before the Second Wave of Comic Book Censorship, an issue of (I think—don’t have time to try to look it up on line now) Weird Comics with the story, told with excellent art work, of how the handsomest knight in the kingdom, engaged to the king’s daughter, was challenged to a fight to the death by the Black Knight, the King’s Executioner, the shunned and ugliest man in the kingdom; after a terrible battle, the good guy won, but he had been so hideously disfigured by the ferocious battle that he became the new Black Knight and, of course, lost his claim on marrying the princess. Anyone else perchance recall that monitory tale from over 60 years ago?

I only hope I don’t get so close that I go over the rail !!

I think there’s a skill to commentating on a fight without getting into the fight. The “superman” is way over in some other strip (or maybe comic book). I definitely wouldn’t plan on being scooped up at the last minute.
