It was an F15 Eagle. Pure huge amount of thrust available helped keep it flying like a guided missile. There are photos of it online. It landed way past the normal landing speed to keep it in control.
Aviation experts were pretty much in agreement it was faked. I saw it also. There is a genuine documented case however of an Israeli fighter jet, losing most of one wing in a midair collision, doing a successful landing.
You can damage your eyes doing that.
