Awww Sophie’s tongue lapping water. Cuteness
Way to make it a virtue, Lupin and Goldie. At least they’re honest about it, I guess?
Holy Cat! I didn’t recognize Beatrix at first — she looks so professional and grown up in that suit and hat!
Sorry, Sophie, you’re surrounded! Surrender to fun!
Lupin pointing at Goldie. Hahaha!!
With enemies like these, who needs friends?
At least be in the ringside and support your pal Tommy, Sophie. And yeah, distract his opponent and hit his opponent with a steel chair when the referree isn’t watching!
Sophie is so adorable grooming!
Sophie is ladylike in everything she does.
A mistake is not a lie.
How dare you accuse Lupin and Goldie of being friends, Sophie!
Oh, my heart is breaking again! Dear Sophie, why do you feel the others are friends and you are not a part of them?
Lupin toe beans – twice!
Dial back the questioning and enthusiasm – Sophie does not have happy ears.
Oh, poor Sophie. It’s OK, sweetie, the other cats just want to be friends with you.
Off topic: Paul
The doctor’s office called yesterday to ask if we would agree to a “virtual” appointment with our doctor. Paul was sleeping, but I readily agreed to it to spare him any discomfort.
I love Bea’s look. She looks just like a 1940’s sports Reporter, out to cover the big game!
Are the rules lifting so she can come out of quarantine
I’m loving Beatrix with her hat in her paws & a look of anxious concern on her face. Such a sweetie!
Today is the official release of Take It Away, Tommy. My copy has gone out for delivery and it should show up at my house today sometime. I was also planning on going to my local independent book store to get a copy once it was out and donate it to my vet’s office and also probably get one for a local little free library like I have done in the past, but that is on hold for now since the book store is closed and I couldn’t bring the book to the vet even if I could get it. I could drop one off at the little free library, but that will have to wait too.
Sophie seems to be getting swept up in the tide of everyone’s good cheer – I think she’s about to discover a whole clowder of good-natured cats, eager to include her as another friend. (If this goes well, it could trigger a breakthrough, and some cat-tastic art!)
She doesn’t to seem to have much joy to spread around today.
These LIES are So TRUE !! … I don’t even know where to begin!! :)
Take It Away, Tommy arrived yesterday from our local independent book store. Home delivery since the store remains closed during the Covid-19 crisis.
Hey, don’t crowd her, guys, or she’s definitely not going to want to participate at all, and then where will this storyarc be?
ya know, I think the lupin/Goldie rivalry is still there but it´s more of a friendly rivalry now.
The best of frenemies.
I just realized something, on the our reporters page at the top of this web page there is no Goldie included in that area, Georgia can you fix that?
Nothing like peer pressure that ends in a fight. We can see it coming.
The grooming in the second panel is perfect.
Ganging up on an extreme introvert. That ALWAYS works well if you want her to stay.
Love Lupin pointing to Goldie in the last panel!!
They should be less strict with her.
OT – my travel update. so the last time I wrote, i was headed to England and then a tour of the USA. well, that didn’t come off at all because of this virus. I cancelled the England trip (thankfully took out the insurance) ‘cause I was afraid to be on a plane for all those hours with so many people from who knows where. So, I decided to visit my cousin in FL and thought I could still see some of the US after that. Well, that went out the window too and didn’t know where to go or what to do. (i didn’t have an apartment in NJ or a job anymore). My friends were telling me not to return to NJ so my sisters came to the rescue and are letting me stay in Momma’s house in Sulphur Springs, TX. Thank God they hadn’t packed up or sold the house yet. So I guess I’m hunkerin’ down here for the duration of this evil virus. And actually, I might find a place of my own in the area afterwards……that part of the plan needs more prayer and thought. I still want to see the country and travel, but it feels good to have somewhere to call home.
It won’t “Bea” easy but they’ll get Sophie to thaw.
Ok, which are the lies, what Lupin said or what Sophie said? After the spider ring detente, think it could go either way.
My copy of Take it Away, Tommy just arrived!!!! Oh, my Cat. So excited. I only looked at a few of the back pages. Tillie!!!!! You’ve all seen the front cover, so adorable with Sophie and Tommie. The back cover has my beloved robber mice.
This could get dirty
yay! getting her out of her shell!!
It’s so hard to be social when you’re a shy introverted kitty. Lots of understanding kitties around you – Sophie, you ARE a friend!
Georgia posted this on Facebook:
Today is the day! “Take It Away, Tommy!” is officially released, and hopefully if you have pre-ordered it is arriving or on its way to you! If you have not ordered your copy yet, you can find it here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/1524858188/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or through your local bookstore’s online orders.
I hope that this book can be a comfort and a place to find laughs right now in these hard times. Join me on my Facebook page live today at noon Pacific time, and I will talk a little bit about the book and some plans I have in the next few days to do some live drawing/painting for you all.
I will still be working at noon Pacific time, but I know in the past her Facebook live videos were available to watch later too, so I know what I am going to be doing tonight.
They should ask Sophie what she considers fun.
I got my book!!!Take It Away Tommy!!!!
Today is Crayon Day! I loved (still do) crayons as a child. One of the highlights of the beginning of the school year was the new box of crayons. The colors always seemed so vibrant and inspiring. And the delightful smell! (Was probably deadly. Que Robin.) Even as an adult I’ve been known to buy them on occasion, even after my kids were grown just because they were so pretty.
You can also make some interesting art by melting them, as I discovered when I was a little older.
Unfortunately, in my life they were replaced by colored pencils because they were more precise. For awhile as a child I was very into “color by number” things. Ah, the simple joys!
Let’s hear it for crayons, often a child’s first introduction to art. I bet Sophie has her own box.
My TAKE IT AWAY TOMMY just arrived!!!!
Now here’s something interesting to watch in these troubled times :
Lucknow (U.P.): A poor vegetable seller in these tough times is letting an extremely hungry bull eat the vegetables!
Okay, folks. Now let’s get to the point. A poor hungry bear is hungry. Gimme all your food now.
Not really Off-Topic: Guess what showed up with today’s mail! :D (My productivity is in grave danger).
My Take It Away Tommy book just arrived from Amazon!!! I ordered it in December and expected it to ship today, not arrive today. Wheee!!!
For those wanting to know, “Take it Away Tommy” ends with Elvis’s trip to Buttertown, which was the next strip after an episode of Our IX lives!
Dont remember if I posted about this here, so I apologize if I’m repeating. It just struck me as being so silly I had to share it. Had a voicemail from my dermatologist’s office. Had an appointment for the annual head-to-toe checkup of my various sun spots (yes, guilty of sun worship in a skimpy bathing suit a few decades back, and I do regret it). The voice informed me that they were not currently seeing patients in the office but I could do a televisit if I wanted to. What am I supposed to do, take my clothes off and scan the cell phone over my body? I can’t even reach some of those spots! I’ll just reschedule later!
Happy “Take It Away, Tommy!” day, everyone!!! Our third BCN book has officially been released today! You can find it through your local bookstore, many have set up ways to order online! Wishing you all a lot of comfort and good health right now!
I had forgotten that the oh-so-wonderful Hallowe’en Special which features Tillie begins with Fuzzy Blanket Season. I so love that story. Even if my old eyes get blurry when I read it. (I am not old, but my eyes are.) I think I want to clear a special shelf so I can, over time, fill it with BCN books.
