She was an obvious carpetbagger who had never held elected office and was arguably the most hated woman in America, and you’re not sufficiently impressed with a 12 point win. Tough guy to impress, I guess.

Seems to me you’ll No True Scotsman any counter argument on this discussion anyway. Sanders’ victory over Smith in 1990 can be similarly dismissed, just like his Senate victory.

She remembered that there actually was a New York state north of West Chester county, which was more than you could say for any senator who came before her since Reconstruction.

You must not be old enough to remember when, on his TV show, he called 12/13 year-old Chelsea Clinton “The White House Dog”. And when he was criticized for it, went the disgracefully craven route of claiming that an assistant stuck that into his monologue without his knowledge so he bore no responsibility for it.

Actually, page one of Quill’s instruction booklet:

“Be blandly attractive to girls, because they’ll literally bend over or lie down for you despite the fact that you have no discernible personality whatsoever.”

Let’s see if the Evanses are deft enough to remember that he made Toni a terrible cook who couldn’t even make canned soup without screwing up. I’m gonna guess no.

It’s last May 13. For some reason, I can’t get the calendar of past strips to work unless I go back to yesterday’s strip. Also, if that doesn’t work, make sure to temporarily disable any javascript disablers on your browser.

And Chesney didn’t show it directly to Annie, who was telling Oliver that perhaps they didn’t know why Chesney was as unpleasant as he was. That was what made it touching.

Yep, looks as if Evans should be writing another note of apology. While the story itself was never particularly hot, this ending fails to live up to even those extremely low expectations.

Unless you’re suggesting that it’s okay to harass a girl in provocative clothing, whereas it’s not okay to rape her, the distinction you’re drawing by saying “no one has been raped” is irrelevant. She was being harassed, and was then told that it’s her fault because she asked for it by dressing the way she did.-Rape is being brought up because that’s a more horrific example of the exact same thing that’s happening here.

Going to have to say it at least once more. If a girl dresses provocatively, there are turds out there that look at it as an invitation

    -

So hold the girl responsible for that rather than blaming the turd? It happens not because the girl is dressed in a particular fashion, but because the turd decides that that’s an invitation.-100% of all rape victims were raped because their rapist decided to rape them. 100% of all harassment victims were harassed because their harassers decided to harass them. Why should this be about changing how the victim conducts herself?
