If it had Beethoven on it he’d be excited.
There’s a comic book biography of Hitler!
Schroeder sure cannot get enough Ludwig.
It’s supposed to drown out that awful racket.
In modern model trains you can reload the sound chip so it plays your favorite Beethoven. Mine is the Ninth especially around Christmas and New Years.
Beethoven bubble gum… ok
Black keys still painted on, plays music in 4 flats (anyone know the piece?) LOL
There’s a dining car with the train, isn’t there? Play for the diners!
And remember: this is all pre-internet, where it was not easy to find all of these Beethoven-themed stuff… looks like an O-gauge train set…
If you are like Gomez Addams, you could have a collision.
In stead of woo woo the train goes dum dum dum dum! (Beethoven’s Fifth)
That’s a good question, what do you do with one of those?, just to see how it goes in circles all the day?
The gondola is perfect for that mini Beethoven bust on your desk!
This has to be one of the very best early Peanuts strips.
So much for the theory that they’re skipping the daily strips to align them with the seasons.
Now pulling into Beethoven Junction!
I noticed 3-rail track. When this strip was drawn, Lionel was the most popular 3-rail toy train brand. I wonder if Charles Schulz ever owned Lionel trains.
Linus should be honoring Vince Guaraldi! Although, he was not on the Peanuts scene until the famous TV special.
So just posting Sunday Peanuts was going to catch the strip up to real time, and now it is past Christmas??
I remember this one well from the early albums.
Sounds like Sheldon: “What 14 year old boy wants a motorbike?”
I remember as a kid one of my favorite Christmas presents was a ballpoint pen. They were a new invention at the time. This one had a button on the side that retracted the tip. It was amazing.
Don’t worry, it’ll becomes your Dad’s Hobby, that you can’t touch or play with.
“May I come in?” From an era when kids were taught good manners.
Ok, so it’s 11 more days till Beethoven’s birthday. Now please post today’s strip. This is yesterday’s.
I hope this isn’t the end of Peanuts Begins. I’ve really enjoyed it.
First nothing but Sundays, now a MISSED DAY! Somebody moved the football!
Easy. You build a scale model of 19th century Bonn around it.
….aand it looks like “Peanuts Begins” may be done.
Maybe you can use the train to display the bubble gum cards?
The Beethoven comic book biography is a precursor to the graphic novel!
You owe me yesterday’s and today’s strips.
It would be nice if the GC curators would let us know if this is the end of PB, and if so, if it will restart. Some retired strips reboot from the beginning when they get to the end.
What’s going on here?
run out of peanuts?
There’s over 50 years of Peanuts. Why are we only getting Sundays and why did it stop? I thought that this was supposed to be an every strip ever created rerun.
Has the running of this strip come to an end? Should we delete from our ‘Favorites’? A clue would be appreciated.
Why have we stopped getting updated strips here?
We can go here for the dailies they stopped posting https://www.gocomics.com/peanuts/1954/08/18 changing the date as needed
I wonder whether this strip (Peanuts Begins) will resume on about 2019/01/01, starting with the strips from about 1955/01/01. Anyway, all the original strips from 1950 to 2000 are available over on the “Peanuts” section, just mostly not in color.
A week of the same strip is no fun at all. Buh bye.
ya"ll griped bout having Sunday comics, now it’s stuck.
GoComics must really like this particular strip, considering that they’ve run it for the past four days…
The electric train is stuck at the station. ;)
Peanuts Begins Ends…?
I wonder if this was an issue with their colorist. If they’d lost someone for that role, running the Sundays would be a backstop and if they’d now found someone else they might be holding publishing new ones while reloading the pipeline
why is this not updating? Same cartoon for 5 days
Is it just me; or has this strip repeated since Dec 4, 2018? Is this the end of Peanuts Begins? Or is just isolated to my GoComics account? So many questions; so little time!
It’s the end of the Begins.
Something wrong with GoComic’s ‘Peanuts Begins’ administrator. Let’s have a look…(opens door) Ah yes, his head’s been ripped off.
(Nods to Monty Python)
The Begins strips started in 2015 to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Peanuts (and promote The Peanuts Movie, I expect). So I assumed the run would be temporary, but some kind of notice to that effect would be nice.
Looks like this will go on until Dec.26.
I think we are stuck or are we waiting for the calendar to catch up to post Christmas ?
99 comments when I write this. I am therefore 100. You would think he could figure out what to do with a train set by now.
What is this? The 12 Days of Beethoven Christmas? Please tell me this isn’t going to be the never-changing, ultimate strip forever, like AT THE ZOO (which has had the same strip up for a month now)!
Uh-oh, I knew all these Sunday strips didn’t bode well – Peanuts Begins is broken!
when are we gonna get a new strip???
Holy cow, it’s like Groundhog Day with this strip.
So we’ve come to the end of Peanuts Begins…why not start over again, or lead up to the current Peanuts?
Stalled out… what has it been, a week?
Yeah, you’d think the author was dead or something.
I have no right to complain; I come here for free. But it was my favorite stop here. I will miss the daily updates.
Someone give the server a whack, it’s been stuck on the same comic for two weeks.
Are we stuck here???
No more comics? I thought he drew a bout 50 years worth (just over 49 years) of these.
Any new ones lately?
Wonder when they be putting a new comic on here…hmm
what is happening
is this the end
Looks like we got a rock again!
what happen I miss my daily fix of peanuts begins
I’m deleting Peanuts Begins from my lineup. Would the last person here please turn off the light? Or if this strip starts up again, post something in the “regular” Peanuts comments so we’ll know to come back.
What’s going on here, no update?
Lucy is a fussbudget now so Peanuts has “Begun”?
Why has this strip been repeating since December 4?
Is this strip finished? Are there no new ones?
Twelve day’s left.
Have we run out of early Peanuts comics, or are we just on Christmas break?
This is the note I sent GCPeanuts Begins: Could you please post an update if the strip is done running? Or if it intends to reboot, ala Little Dog Lost or Spot? Just telling folks who have inquired “it is an archive and the missing strips may not be there” does not tell folks what we need to know to move on. In this case we obviously know there are more strips, they are on the other site. There are characters and set ups that haven’t been introduced yet, so we are not through “beginning.” Most of us are on PB for the chronological study of how the strip evolved daily as it did in RL. However, even explaining it is over, and we need to port over to the regular site now to manually catch up would be helpful. Bueller? Anyone there?
Well, FYI – here’s where we’re at: https://www.gocomics.com/peanuts/1954/12/26?ct=v&cti=1378961
And their response: Andrews McMeel Universal Support, Dec 12, 8:42 AM CST:Hello
The archive department has been notified of the need to restart the series, and there’s nothing further this department can do to further those ends.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you,GoComics SupportAndrews McMeel Syndication
It’s the same old story / Same old song and dance, my friend
Somebody wake me up when they get around to updating this strip
Time for a “new” cartoon!
For those that want to see this strip go, Dec 26th is the last day.
For those of you that can’t wait for the strip to re-boot…here’s a great strip for you…Please..try it….https://www.gocomics.com/the-comic-strip-that-has-a-finale-every-day/2018/12/13
What’s going on? No updates to the comic in 10 days?
You might give a ride to “Little Nemo” – your’e both stuck on the Same track…
And with his last “Peanuts” comic strip published on Sunday, December 26, 1954, cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, lamenting that he had run out of comic gags, put away his pens and drawing table forever and instead became a local barber like his father before him. Schulz would occasionally draw funny characters for his youngest customers, but never regretted retiring from cartooning.
“Peanuts”, having only run nationally in newspaper comic pages for four years, was soon forgotten. Its space on the page was taken by the hilarious adventures of “Henry”.
I have came here lately just for the recent comments, but they seem to be drying up…
“…Babe….. I got you, babe….. I got you Babe….”
this has stalled
The engine’s revving but the shifter is on “N”!
No one knows the day of return but I am saying December 27. Kind of like the second coming.
Is Peanuts Begins Ended
Take the train to the airport Schroeder and fly to Vienna. Trade the bubble gum and comic books for tickets to all-Beethoven concerts. Enjoy!! Today is Beethoven’s birthday. Freude!!!!
Looks like this comic is broke.
It’s Great Beethoven, Charlie Brown.
Nothing since 12/4… Is this comic broken?
I, too, e-mailed GoComics about the lack of updates here, and on one other comic, and received this response:
It is unknown to this account support desk, if and or when, either of those features will update or resume.
So, looks like we’ll still be waiting.
Yep, this comic strip is broken. For some reason this comment is deleted everyday for about a week.
Rebooted from the beginning. apparently they either were uploading new strips, just not switching them on, or they just bulk uploaded the last two weeks. They restarted from the beginning on the 5th.
