Verne’s comment in panel #3 reminds me of my two definitions of “expert”:

One: an ex is a has-been and a spert is a drip under pressure,

Two: an expert is a person who knows more and more about less and less, until they know everything about nothing.

Many people know everything about one thing, and nothing about anything else.

Asking questions is a great way to figure things out. Thank you, Sesame Street.

Religions were invented to stop kids asking questions to grown-ups who did not know the answers…

Some people think scientists are obsessed with finding answers, not true. They are obsessed with finding the next question.

I may not know everything, but I know where to look up things.

Financed by a shell company, no doubt.

No, religion is the opposite of asking questions and learning things.

“I never learned a single thing by talking.”

A truly Smart individual understands the fact that they can never know everything, but are still driven to learn as much as they can through all of the available means.

These days starting a podcast would be the first step to a religion

You can’t know something about everything, because you don’t know everything about which there is something to know (“There are known knowns. There are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns. That is to say, we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don’t know we don’t know.” – Donald Rumsfeld). But you can know a little bit about a great many things.

Seems Verne knows some of those known unknowns we were warned about.

You know, generally they say that knowledge is the key to success, but not in RJ’s case.

A bachelor’s degree leaves you knowing nothing about everything. After a master’s, you know a lot about a little. With a PhD, you know everything about nothing.

I have three master’s and a PHD and feel ignorant on so many levels but I still enjoy learning.

Sounds way more like science than religion.
