Man: I think I've figured out the secret to their perfect on-time record.
Sign reads: ZEN AIRLINES
DEPARTURES: ARE ALWAYS NOW
ARRIVALS: ARE ALWAYS NOW
Their safety record is pretty bad though. They make you one with the world.
The best discussion I’ve heard about ‘Now" is on Mel Brooks’ Space Balls:_ "Dark Helmet: What the Hell am I lookin’ at? When does this happen in the movie? Sandurz: Now. Whatever you’re looking at now, is happening now. Dark Helmet: Well, what happened to then? Sandurz: We just passed it. Dark Helmet: When? Sandurz: Just now. Dark Helmet: Well, go back to then. Sandurz: We can’t. Dark Jelmet: Why not? Sandurz: We already passed it. Dark Helmet: When will then be now? Sandurz: Soon.
Absolutely true story from maybe 20+ years ago. There was a bus company in rural England that ran a route between several small towns. The buses were always late. After numerous complaints to local governments, there was a meeting between the local elected officials, the public & the company officials. What came out of the meeting got reported world wide for a really good reason. The company president said that the only reason the buses were always late was because they had to stop & pick up passengers!I’ve never forgotten that one.
A couple times a year, teachers have a work day, when students have a day off, and teachers have some time to catch up on records, etc…….Teaching really is a lot easier without the students!
“The sentence I am now writing is the sentence you are now reading.”.The two occurrences of “the sentence” refer to the same thing; the two occurrences of “now” refer to different times.
Ah. It is of the Spirit they speak.
Om sure I’d rather fly round trip on Karma airlines.
Than there’s the sign in Hooters restaurants, Free Beer Tomorrow.
How many Zen flight attendants does it take to work the cabin on that plane?
Time and space is for now. So here is now; and they zen you.
The airline’s mechanic manual is : Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
Everything is relative.
No matter where they go, there they are.
I wonder why this strip reminded me immediately of the novel Zen There Was Murder, by H. R. F. Keating.
“jam tomorrow – jam yesterday – but never never jam today”
Time is natures way to keep everything from happening at once.
Today’s comments are funnier than the ’toon!!Thanks to all of you (you know who you are…)
If you don’t like the rules, alter them to fit your needs!
I enjoy reading the comments so I usually check my favorite toons at night after most of the comments have been posted. Too often there are few comments worth reading, but today you folks really made my wait worthwhile. Great stuff. Thanks.
Wait til he finds out that the Pilot’s name is ZAthras. And the flight Attendent is ZathrAs.And the Co-Pilot is Zathras …
Today is Yesterday Tomorrow.
