The serious point is: what was the point of all that legislation that they knew would get blocked and which no-one knows about anyway? Seems like bad politics to me.

Full of facts? Newspaper reporters are just as biased as the TV or internet type. Do your own research on any political idea you care about, because you can’t trust the news.

Points to the dysfunction of our governing apparatus. Obvious first up is Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority leader, who controls the Senate’s agenda. First up we would be better off if the Senate did vote on the House bills, rather than bury them. This criticism, btw, is no different from criticizing Harry Reid of the <= 113th Congress sitting on bills passed by the Republican House.

Next, what do we do if the Senate does vote down the House bills, and the voters confirm that at the next election?

Seeing how dysfunctional WashDC is, how come too few people think of taking back the power, as described by the 10th Amendment, and doing what needs doing at the state, local and individual level?

Sorry I don’t recall the citation, but there was an actual scientific study that showed that, asked simple, objective, factually-provable questions, people who relied Faux “News” for their “information” not only knew less about the world than people who relied on other sources, they knew less than people who consumed no news from any source.

That’s right folks (as if we didn’t already know) – watching Faux makes you stupid.

We all should realize that the true obstructionists in government since November 2006 has been Moscow Mitch, Leningrad Lindsey and their Republican comrades in the U.S.Senate.

Namaste Nancy and her crew have been stalled at practically every turn between the place holders in the House and the stallers in the Senate.

No amount of Trumpist lies, Murdochean distortions or alt-wing propaganda will change the fact that the so-called Republican Party ( Which is really no longer the Republican Party but the Party of tRump ) have sold this country down the tubes and knowingly or unwittingly, are creating a Russian satellite nation.

It seems over the years Boopsie has become less naive & more savvy, while BD hasn’t grown much. OK, he has maybe evolved up from his PTSD, has good buds, and maybe he’s done good by those poor homeless college kids… RE faux news, never watched it, never will. I mean, would you or I stop and examine road kill by the roadside, festooned with flies? Even if millions do, does that mean I should? I think not!

Sad but true about newspapers and Moscow Mitch. If it’s supported by Democrats, MM squashes it. If it’s supported by Republicans, by all means MM moves it to a vote. Don’t even get me started on the decline of printed newspapers.

Hannity and Trump both say things that are simply objectively and verifiably UNTRUE extremely often, for two reasons in Hannity’s case (which Trump of course shares), and a third reason in Trump’s case that Hannity does not seem to share. To whit: (1) Both are massively ignorant about most topics. (As conservative pundit George Will once correctly pointed out, the problem with Trump isn’t merely that he doesn’t know things, nor even that he doesn’t know what he does not know. The problem with Trump is that he does not know what it is to know things!) (2) Both lie when they speak, although Hannity is not the congential, pathological, compulsive liar that Trump is. Now for the third reason, for Trump continually getting things wrong, yet not because he is massively ignorant (he, of course, is), nor a pathological liar (he, of course, is): Trump is DELUSIONAL, and oftentimes honestly believes idiocies and insanities, and therefore repeats them to rallies and reporters.

My late father was 44 years in Newspaper publishing, affiliated with ad-production. I spent a number of years also, working as a copy clerk and a supply clerk. My late father had long retired by the time I relocated to the SW, where I continued my tenure working in Newsprint. After ten years with a local city paper with near 350K daily subscriber’s, I called a career and moved on to something more stable. Sadly, and it must be admitted, print is dead … :(
