Here I was thinking up the classic tune with the first two panels.

A scene in the old Britcom “The Young Ones” had a character look out of the window in the morning and watch the sun shatter into many pieces. His line? “Morning has broken.”

When Horace wakes up, he’ll know for sure.

I thought I noticed some new cracks in the dawn today.

Horace should be mourning morning.

Forty-five years ago, I began a song with

“Morning has broken. Call the repairman…”

A few days later, my lady completed the verse with

“Pray that he gets here before the sky falls.

If he won’t answer, we’re all in trouble,

But you know how repairmen answer their calls."

And all the kings Horaces and all the kings of men…..

Wile E. Coyote bounds away, gleeful that — for a change — it didn’t land on him.

Dawn broke. The noise woke me up.
