Be happy with your life, Brutus: you have a decent work, a family with a beloved mother-in-law……No, wait.

Uncle Ted is a true friend to Brutus.

Once is enough!

The idea, Brutus, is that you’ll do it RIGHT the second time. Of course, the problem with that is that you may screw up in a completely different way. And with you, that’s about certain.

You were a kid in elementary school and all your OLD friends were there?

Wouldn’t all your friends in the school be around the same age as you were within a few months? You wouldn’t have called them old!

If I knew then what I know now, it would have been someone else’s life.

If Brutus was dreaming, then why not?

If that happened to me, I would think that I had died. Also, imagine having to go thru it all again!

If you could go back, could you make changes? Make different mistakes?

While I seldom dream about the past, I often see myself in the future. Although the future me is often thinner and much more spry and athletic.

Brutus, if you weren’t you, then we wouldn’t have this wonderful comic!

Been there, done that. And as I sat down to do my schoolwork, I suddenly thought, “Wait, didn’t I already do this?”

You can’t have mine! I’m still using it!

Life is like school. But most of the time it gives you a test before you had time to study.

Is Uncle Ted trying to give Brutus a heart attack? Enough to make Brutus hair curl. Too late.

regrets…he’s had a few…

I have no desire to live my life over again. Once is enough. I’m looking forward to our Lord Jesus calling us all home.

On the plus side, Brutus will surely make it to Heaven because between his boss, his mother-in-law and even his wife from time to time, Brutus has been through enough hell. Btw Uncle Ted has it better than me – my dreams of school are of tests I’ve forgotten to study for, bad dorm food, and other ugh moments.

Sometimes I feel the same way, Brutus; then again, I haven’t had that bad a life so I guess I’ll be happy with what I have.

A very great Philosophical Question. However, if we don’t remember those points in our lives where there was a fork in the road to make a life’s choice, we will make the same mistake again. However, once we choose that different first fork in the road of our life, all bets are off and only God knows where we will end up. The choice will always be yours my friend, except in the reliving of a life moment in our dreams…..

Who’s life would you choose?

So you want to screw up someone else’s life.

Who among us hasn’t said to himself “I wish I had done some things differently”?

I have the same dream but I’m stuck at my locker racking my brain trying to remember the locker combination.

If I had a dream of school so vivid that it felt real, believe me I would NOT have a smile on my face.

Uncle Ted’s question is way too big to answer here. All I can say is that first, I’d want to know the ground rules.

As for dreams, more power to Uncle Ted for being able to remember this one — and a good one at that. I rarely remember mine, unless they’re traumatic. The one I recall best is one that I had 50 years ago. It doesn’t haunt me, but I haven’t ever forgotten it.

I want to have Uncle Ted’s dream!

on moonkey’s recommendation, i’m reading the midnight library, which deals with exactly this subject. it’s been an entertaining read so far, about 50 pages or so in… ☺
