There’s a Star & Garter that I know Andy’d be welcome at. It’s the Star and Garter Hotel Kalgoorlie, in Western Australia!

What he really means is it’s virgin territory for cadging drinks.

I think the Star and Garter has been mentioned is some classic Andy Capp comics. Can’t recall any at the moment, but the name sounds familiar.

I’ve never come across the term “that’s champion”, but assume that is a good thing.
