Maybe Rat expected a more elaborate answer than this, which maybe will take longer than four seconds.

It is likely tea, but a quick search found several brands of instant coffee bags that look and are used exactly like tea, so it might be coffee look up Folgers Coffee Singles Classic Roast Coffee Bags.

Setting up an autoreply takes a little longer, but you can amortise it over many emails/.

At least takes a few seconds to receive emails and text messages. I don’t receive voicemails for two or theee days.

Ah, but must we expect that we’re entitled to a response merely for having been on the receiving end of an email?

An acknowledgement isn’t really a response. A response takes much longer. If Rat just wants to know if Goat got the email, he should set the notify when read option if his email has that.

As a truck driver, I do not need to read, or respond to the emails my company sends me. It truly is a blessing to not know everyone at the trucking terminal has thoughts on everything.

If a real person that I know takes the time to write an email to me I feel it is simply a sign of respect to acknowledge receipt even if I have nothing more to say. Conversely, if I took the time to write a personal email and don’t receive a reply, I don’t send them email anymore.Which may be what they want.

I’m terrible at responding to emails in a timely manner. Which is especially problematic because I’ve recently taken on the duties of corresponding secretary in an organization I belong to.

Of course, I wouldn’t actually write “Thanks. Got your email.” A response that’s got enough substance to it to be useful can justify a longer lag time.

My Wisconsin brother visited Cook Island, and responded to my (also Wisconsin) Message in seconds. (As a long retired AT&T engineer, I had first checked to learn they have both coax and fiber cables and well networked. We old managers never die, we just smell that way.)
