That’s what this winter has been like. Brief, horrible blasts followed by not much.

Snow in the gulf region tends to only last until the daily punchline, heh.

It’s 26 degrees here. A warm evening after a fairly warm day. The windows are open to catch any bit of breeze. No snow.

One November about 15 years ago I bought a non-vented gas space heater from Tractor Supply just in case we had a winter power failure. Just to be on the safe side I also bought a gas detector alarm that checks for all applicable gases. Just a week after I bought the heater my furnace went out, so I turned it on to use until I could save up for a new one. It did such a good job keeping my large house warm that I didn’t bother replacing the furnace until spring, even though we had several sub-zero days. I use it some every winter, just to warm the house quickly in the mornings. This year there was an extended power failure not far away, and one man froze to death. The people who want to outlaw natural gas in all new houses are going to get more people killed.

Arlo has a snow shovel? Really? How many people in Mississippi own a snow shovel?

Nothing like a big snow storm for relaxation, if you don’t have to go out in it.

I would love to get snowed in. Fat chance of it happening in Eastern NC though.

One thing I never understand. Every year when it is going to snow, stores run out of snow shovels. Why? I’ve owned my snow shovels for 20 years. Do other people throw them away each spring?

We got iced in again this year, but only for five days; then First False Spring hit. Record high temperatures. And back to freezing.

Here in Ohio we had below freezing conditions for about a week in January. Since then, it’s been in the 50s.

Looking for snow days? I always wanted one as a kid. We never had one. However we did get off in the event of a hurricane and flooding.

So nice to look at the snow. Beautiful. But I hated living in it and the slush afterwards.

JJ seems to be fantasizing about snow which almost never happens on the balmy gulf coast where he lives.

Lucky for you that the ground was too warm to accumulate. Losing power is what I always think about first when a winter storm advisory is issued!!! Food I can do without for a while.

They stuck a university on a (small) mountaintop and I worked there all my life. Could count on a few snow days every year!
