Okay, this one is amusing, makes sense, and happens to folks of all ages more than we like to admit. Thumbs up for losing Skip Bittman and bringing back Dolorous Ed.
Then the kids come along, clean out the freezer with all the old expiration dates, now the seniors have more room to buy stuff they won’t get around to eating, because they have room in freezer
“What was it that I was looking for again?” Said no human being ever. That’s Batiuk’s Third Law of Dialog: never say in five words (“What was I looking for?”) what can be said, somewhat blurrily, in nine. It’s not that great of a punch line to begin with; by the time it’s obscured by the extra words, it’s hardly a punch line at all.
I’ll give Davis some points here, for nicely arranging the words—four in the first line, three in the second, two in the third.

It must have been a Montoni’s pizza or a comic book, because those are the only two things of any importance.

Does his freezer have a light that is on when he opens the lid? If it does, he can get inside and learn if the light stays on when the lid is closed.

You might have left ‘it’ in the fridge in the garage, or the one in the RV. The cellar in the back yard? Lake cabin? Settle for a bag of chips.

I think it was one of those 25 year old band turkeys. Gonna take a while to defrost it for Thanksgiving.

Freezer archeology has encounters with food brands that went under years ago.

Why isn’t there any frost in that freezer? Is it just an unplugged storage unit for empty food cartons? Does Cranky hoard them?

Les Moore’s body. Don’t you remember killing him, then hiding the body here, Shaft?

Not that funny, but certainly relatable.
