I have three degrees, but I also spent eight years of my life working as a janitor. I strongly recommend learning janitorial skills, as whenever you need a job, whether it’s a primary job or a second job, somebody always needs a good janitor.

Usually the first question I remember on most of my school tests was; ‘Please give your name and class number here..’

But after about grade 3 they just got lazy and less polite and wrote ‘Enter your name!’

That wouldn’t be a question any longer but a command I would think.

Or become Biden’s press secretary. She can’t answer any of the questions, either. Well, what do you expect. Neither can Sock Puppet Joe. “Water is… is… is… ummm… wait a minute, it will come to me… ummm… JILL!”

Once upon a time we would sneak out of school, buy donuts, and come back to school and eat them in the janitor’s storage room.

Some people just don’t have the makeup to do well in academia. Yeah, everyone needs a basic set of skills: reading, writing (enough to be understood), basic math (I can wow people at work with high school algebra – but enough math to balance a checkbook is good enough).

To think that the only other option is “do you want fries with that,” sells them short. There are many fields that might need their other talents. The trick it to find the talent and make it salable.

I am glad that I had the skills to take the academic path and got a number of good and high paying jobs because of it. However, I am “dumb from the neck down.” I have to pay people to come in and change a light bulb for me.

Patty could do more answering in class, if she’d do less sleeping in class.

I always felt sorry for Patty. I hated school and never did more than average. With every adult in the system saying I wasn’t working up to my potential. The only difference between her and me is that aced almost all my tests while slacking off on homework.

If she stays in the public school system and this were present day, she at least stands a chance for receiving assistance for any learning disability she might be suffering with. But if her family has money for private school, they can likely afford independent evaluation and help.
