Sadly, the most common death on that playground is by decapitation.

Football helmet cut Super Bowl trim.

My Father is sure to say, “The body shop”, when Mom got a new hairdo.

When I was about 6, I fell backward off a swing and whacked my head. Didn’t hurt much, but when I put my hand on the back of my head, there was plenty of blood… at least 6 year old me thought it was a lot. Now if I had had a helmet of hair like hers, no problemo!

(the injury was slight, my mother took care of it— just another instance of how slight head wounds seem to bleed a lot)

    …Mom was a hoot…

…she still played Rugby at St. Martha’s…

    …next up…

    …Skoal, just like Mom …

    …no, Mr.Bond…

    …I expect you to die…

    …must be the wrong hat…

Oh piffle, the beehive hairdos of later generations were far more protective.

Especially wearing the French twist and the beehive! OY!

It was like a helmet that didn’t move for a week! Aaaaacckk!

Not a hair out of place, nor did the wind have an effect on the “doo”!

Who knew what was in there…bees? Bugs? Pencils stayed put….

I’d concentrate on the uneven bars, and stay away from the balance beam, if I were you.

It’s a helmet hair variant, for sure, isn’t it, little girl? You and mommy must both be stuck in the 1950s.

    Isn’t that lame!

But if you’re easily mistaken for your mother, that makes you less safe.

Because your mom has been talking s*** all over town.
