McCarthy wants to make America a deadbeat.

“We don’t negotiate with terrorists” or Nazis in everyway but name.

The debt ceiling is just one more “issue” for Republicans to weaponize and LIE about.

And both the Washington Post and New York Times talk about Biden having to make “choices”.

Surely McCarthy knows, should he allow default, he might as well resign.

Because, with the debt ceiling there is nothing to negotiate. Leave it to Repubs to get the debt ceiling mixed up with their budget.

Have to love the Repubs wanting to cut everything that benefits those that earned their benefits and Veteran programs. Just so they can justify the tax cuts to their wealthy donors that are contributing to the necessity to raise the debt ceiling. Tax cuts that they don’t need, and certainly don’t deserve.

The debt ceiling should be abolished.

START the negotiation with “we aren’t ever giving you ANYTHING you want.” Then complain that THEY won’t negotiate with you.

Don’t play this like it’s just a threat to Biden’s agenda— their plan cuts aid to veterans, aid to needy families, aid to children, frickin’ POLICE (the law and order party in action, folks!) the FBI (well, that one’s self-explanatory!) etc et frickin’ cetera. . .

Gocomics stopped allowing outside images to be used in the comments years ago so I’m gonna have to do my best to describe this. McCarthy wasn’t to balance this budget on the backs of Food Stamp and Welfare recipients. That makes up almost 1% of the budget. Military spending make up 57%. It looks better done on a pie chart. I like pie.

I guess he really wants to be known forever as the guy who crashed the global economy.

With the table set as we see it, Joe is wise not to come for supper.

This is what you get, when a politician tries to pander to emotionally unintelligent people. McCarthy is more follower of the 70 million than leader of Congress.

No negotiation. Pay your F’n bill.

Why won’t McFarty do something that at least makes sense?

Reagan took the deficit from 70 billion to 175 billion.

Bush 41 took it to 300 billion.

Clinton got it to zero.

Bush 43 took it from 0 to 1.2 trillion.

Obama halved it to 600 billion.

Trump got it back to a trillion.

Biden reduced it $350 billion his first year in office. And the budget office expects to see it drop by another 1 trillion, 500 billion dollars – the largest drop ever. This is despite a $1.9 Trillion pandemic relief package. The Republicans screamed about this at the time, but it is credited with funding a faster recovery than anywhere else in the world, and actually decreasing the debt further.

The Senate just needs to rip out all of McCarthy’s garbage, and send it back to the House. That way, the Senate can say “we just passed a CLEAN debt limit bill”. Of course, they’ll need to dump the filibuster. Which ain’t gonna happen.

The Senate just needs to be eliminated, along with gerrymandering in the House.

This is actually part of the Steve Bannon agenda: blow the whole thing up and build it back from the rubble the way he wants it!

How is not driving up the debt a threat?

Should he engineer a default his pole numbers in his home district will go up. Remember: Trump, McCarthy, DeSantis, MTG, Boobutt, Gaetz are all symptoms. The problem is the people who vote for them and why they do so.

Show us you’re serious, Mac. Push the button. Then we’ll respect you. Well, your fragments, anyway.
