Family?? It was Zoe’s bet and her’s alone. Since she can’t pay up, Hammie can go for the kill shot here of: no ridicule, bad mouthing, make-me-look-stupid, teasing, etc. for the next ten years.
When I was a kid, in a situation like this, when the winner would say “Pay up!”, we would say “OK, hold out your hand.” When they did so, we would act as though we were sprinkling “A dash of that” into a recipe. Sort of like that thing you’d do with your thumb and forefinger and saying “This is the world’s smallest record player, and it’s playing ‘My Heart Bleeds For You’…” ☺
Let’s put that into perspective. If you borrowed a million dollars and repaid it at the rate of one dollar per second, it would take 11 days to pay it off.
If you borrowed a billion dollars and repaid it at one dollar per second, it would take 32 years.
A trillion dollars? 32,000 years.
I have no idea how large a gabillion would be, let alone a million-trillion-gabillion.
Yes, I say Zoe has put the family in a difficult financial position.

Alright! Hammie got a growth spurt.

He’s not getting anything. We know a million-trillion-guabillion dollars is all play money.

The million-trillion I can understand, but that guabillion may require a second mortgage.

Zoe, tell Hammie that the bet was in Indian Rial’s, then you will only owe him about $3.18.

No you didn’t. That’s not a real number, as Hammie would have known if he paid more attention in math class.

Not the family, Zoe. This debt’s on you.
sclutter42 about 1 year ago
The good news is that Hammie owes Zoe a similar amount of money over a bet on Zoe’s report card, so their debts should cancel out.

Not family Zoe. You’re the one with the problem. As Hammie’s said “pay up”.

Hammie actually bet zoe a similar amount a while back so I think they even out now.
