I’ve heard they have a sense of the Earth’s magnetic field. I watched a large flock approach a big, multi-cable powerline. They flew three 360s over the powerline before continuing on their way.
Those aren’t geese. At least there are no geese with that coloration, or even close. Mallards and teal are the closest I could find, and they’re ducks, not geese.
Back in the day I offered to get my directionally challenged wife a TomTom but she said she didn’t need one as long as she had her cell phone and her Steve-Steve!
Our city Community Center is a few blocks from my house. It has nice grounds and a huge pond with tall fountains. Canada Geese LIVE there. They do not migrate anymore. Goose crap is very slippery on the walkways – and it’s EVERYWHERE. Nobody has a solution to this decades-long problem. I vote to trap them, put them on a plane and drop them up North when that’s where they ought to be ;-)

Simply follow the arctic tern … they stop at Usinger’s in Milwaukee, so be ready for a turn for the wurst.
