I absolutely love when an older cat puts their paw down on the head of a kitten who’s being too frisky.♥

Ooooh! I can’t wait to see what they do with those rooms! If the people gain a second floor, then the 2am running of the cats, will be more interesting! P.S, I can hear Ora saying, What’s that? Give me, give me!

All the apartments should have cat doors installed so the cats can all roam at will and visit whenever necessary :)

Hope they have opened every drawer and cupboard door to check for further treasure. Also check the backs of the armoires and the under and back sides of every drawer. Don’t forget to remove all drawer and shelf liners too. Riffle through every book and check the backs of every framed piece on the walls (plus behind the backing board of same). Look inside and under every decorative box and trunk and table lamp. You are looking for cash, papers like deeds or bills of sale, makers’ marks or labels (sometimes the makers of furniture increase its worth, for example, authentic Stickley pieces plus gallery or auction data for art work and publication and edition data for books). The Quinn family were the wealthiest in the area back in the day and would have bought and used primo objects.

I would love to attend that auction not to buy but to admire and to cheer on lots of competitive bids for the sake of the animal shelter. There must have been some lovely things hidden away when that part of the house was shut up.

Since coming home in mid-December, our newest family member, Holmes, has enjoyed the Christmas Tree. Whether diving under it, climbing it or knocking down ornaments, Holmes thought the tree was really cool.

On Monday, Holmes was upstairs taking a kitten power nap when we put the tree away for the year. Then, a few hours later, Holmes did one of his favorite things; bounce off Hamilton’s head, get Hamilton to chase him, and then run into the living room to dive under the tree. However, when he bounced off Hamilton on Monday and ran into the living room, somebody had taken away his tree!

He came to a screeching halt in the living room, and you could see him thinking, “I am sure there was a tree in here. Where did it go?” Holmes stood there, looking confused when Hamilton caught up to him and tackled him.

The lesson Holmes learned that day was that indoor trees obviously migrate somewhere after Christmas and that he will need to find a new place to escape to after bouncing on Hamilton. Life can be so difficult for kittens.

I hope the Quinn Trust gets lots of money from their auction. However, I find myself hoping the grandfather clock doesn’t sell. I’ve always wanted a grandfather clock, but never had the money or the room for one. I could own this one vicariously.

I believe when this arc first started, many were wondering if they would sell the antiques and maybe make enough to either buy the BPH or at least keep it solvent for a while longer. I certainly love this solution more than that (everyone buying the house together) but it is nice to bring that idea to a solid conclusion.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Lupinium: And now for my disappearing scone act.

Elvis-Anum: I’ll second that with my disappearing tea act.

Puckmosis: Anyone hear on how the repairs to the Red Planet Spider are going?

Elvis: According to Fresh and Salty Water Cats, there is a lot of hammering and moving of items going on.

Lupinium: And I hear the Fabric Artisans have created some lovely sails.

Elvis: It’s nice that they’re beautiful to look at, but are the sturdy?

Puckmosis: You can be sure anything Sophititi, Tillie, Adobe Style, and Arachna create will be first rate. Let’s go see.

    At the Artisans’ Studio

Puckmosis: Hi, Ladies. We’ve come to see the sails you created.

Lupinum: And we thought you’d might like to take a tea and scone break.

Adobe Style: Ooh, acorn! My favorite flavor.

Elvis: We have blueberry and cinnamon as well.

Tillie: The sails are coming along beautifully. We were able to use a bit of space-time fabric for the banner.

Puckmosis: How did you come by space-time fabric?

Sophititi: Not really sure, but we think it may have been part of the Yuletide un-crime wave.

Hmmm, I wonder which would be better. To auction the antiques or to flat out sell them. Would need the right crowd to auction them to get the most money for them. But to sell them flat out could take years and they’d have to sell at a flat rate that might have to be reduced just to get them sold.
