I was going to make a crack about this arc being shown as an example in the comics dictionary of “anticlimactic”. Then I looked up the definition of anticlimactic: “causing disappointment at the end of an exciting or impressive series of events.” So it would be impossible.

Yeah, Greggg’s “rested”, since he pitched two games ago, not one. Apparently Gillll only has two starting pitchers? Well that was an exciting playoffs! One panel of action with no context. (I’m not counting Gregggg dejected stroll off the mound on his own accord as “action”.) One-and-done, as happens 95% of the time with Milford. I did expect this game to go at least two days though. This was kind of an insult to not show the game at all.

Now we’ve got 4 more days of strips to wrap it up? Other than The Hammburgler’s big reveal as to what is his trade-off for not being exposed by Lou Grant, what is left? Consoling of Gregg, some lame lesson learned. Maybe the State School Board shows up to charge Gil with child endangerment or something like that! Yeah, get the new writer started with a bang! And speaking of a bang, you can start your morning off with a bang by reading today’s Mopped Up Thorp.

Ooh, wait until Friday when Gregggg comes into school to tell everyone how some top eye surgeon called. They saw Gregggg’s inspiring story on the news just after the clip about the tricycle riding chimp and has offered to do some complicated experimental surgery on his eyes that will cure his blindness. All they’re asking in return is a complete set of State Champion Coach Gillll Thorp commemorative gear.

It seems many commenters have the same keyboard problem. Stuck ‘m’ and ‘g’ keys. Either that or it’s some attempt at what, I’m not sure.

Is Gil going to have to apply for his job again? Will he say to the new guy “Hey, look at those State Championships! You better make me a hero!”

I’m hoping we can hurry to the club, so Rubin can help Gil finish his golf career ( Gil will be teaching yoga in the summers from now on) with at least two aces on the back nine.
