I wonder if Nike still employs slave labor.

Not that its stockholders give a damn!!

O, ten times faster Venus’ pigeons fly to seal love’s bonds new-made, than they are wont to keep obliged faith unforfeited. What haps? Let’s eat!

Once he was young. Then he had a daughter, a mortgage, and had other things to worry about.

A finance prof of mine consistently stressed that a company should focus on its strength in whatever its service or product is, and if it wanted to have an impact in social messaging or philanthropy, to engage an organization that focuses on those aspects of society.

I.e., make widgets profitably, donate profits to chosen causes.

Kim had a different finance prof.

I think Mike is the practical one here. He is wondering how Kim’s plan puts food on the table.

I look forward to Trudeau’s Sunday Strip attacking the Communist Chinese Party for doing the EXACT SAME THING with NIKE n CHINA. I am sure that Trudeau will be a very brave man and DARE to insult the glorious CCP. I can’t wat to see him depicting the Uighur as slaves and in prison. Maybe he will talk about the millions locked down in Shanghai on the lie of stopping Covid when really the CCP is trying to stop an uprising from disenchanted Chinese people in a position to make a difference.

Maybe old “Brave” Gary T. Will depict the organ harvests from living prisoners (surely political prisoners) so they can sell them on the black market.

Yup, Ole Gary Trudeau, we can count on him to take on the evil that is the CCP.

Don’t hold your breaths folks. Trudeau is a fraud and true beleiver in Marxism, so he would NEVER dare to offend the CCP.

I don’t think many people are going to pay to get really depressing facts about their shoes.

A classic case of thinking his own bills and responsibilities are more important than those of other people in other countries. tsk. Typical imperialist colonial thinking. Wait, Vietnam won the war.

The most important task for an adult human is to raise your children to be responsible and not be a drag on society (in other words, take care of the first two levels of Maslow’s heirarchy of needs). Once that is done, feel free to become altruistic and fix the world’s problems.

Yeah, this is the kind of not-for-profit community-service action best handled by big companies with an image to polish … like Nike.

The past is gone. We must live with it and fight to undo the effects of past negligence now. At least half of Congress must go, the average American must be educated as to how serious and immediate our problems are and what sacrifices ALL of us must make to keep our environment a habitable and pleasant place to live in. Our consumption-based economy must be scrutinized and replaced by an equilibrium-based one. And, we must control our numbers peacefully and sensibly or war, disease, starvation and/or a toxic environment will do it for us. Now or never.

Kevin Mc Carthy flees in terror from honest reporter Jonathan Karll, who only asked him to repeat what he’d already said.

I think he broke several Olympic records getting out of the room.
