I’m afraid I haven’t been following the comments. What happened to Georgia? I had assumed she was just on vacation.

I have a friend whose son has 3 sex chromosomes. He just started tee ball and I know she’s quietly praying that he’s never put in a position where he has to prove he’s on the “right” team.

Dude. Don’t be petty. I’m Catholic and I’ve spent years explaining Lent. As long as the person asking questions doesn’t tell me Catholics are baby-eating witches (yes, that’s a thing with some evangelicals and, yes, I’ve had that encounter), it’s all good. I’ve really appreciated Jewish friends of mine who we’re willing to talk about their faith. Religions are lived. Reading about a faith versus talking to someone is like the difference between reading a cookbook and eating a meal.

The question has always been how did it get to Wuhan. Either it travelled hundreds of miles from its natural source without infecting anything or anyone else along the way OR it was accidentally released from a lab where it already was before the start of the pandemic. I know China has a ton of money and political sway, but we need to accept that labs are leaky and they ALL need more oversight.

Just skimmed your link. The authors still list a leak as a possible source. They also mention criticism of the Chinese government for not releasing this data 3 years ago. As the raccoon dog data serves to defend Chinese lab practices and the govt itself, it is reasonable to question why the government has sat on it for so long.

And as someone who’s worked in labs with controlled materials and has documented breaches of protocol, I say Occam’s razor points to accidental lab leak. Find definitely proof otherwise and I’ll accept it. But not before.
