The struggle to have Jackson confirmed was both a triumph and a disgrace. Republicans once again exhibited their childish petulance in opposing anything and anyone who might dilute their right-wing social agenda. The Supreme Court has thus become just another political sandbox where kids throw toys at each other.

I am glad she was confirmed BUT I do look forward to the day which frees us of using terms at all, black, white, what religion, what politics, what sexual preferences….just a name is fine, that would be equality if we can quit quit qualifying and checking boxes…if I hear a another person is “the first trans” whatever I think I will just puke, I am an avowed heterosexual, you care?, hell no.

As soon as I saw 3 Republicans had voted for her, I immediately checked on who they were, thinking I knew who at least two of them were. I was right, Murkowski and Collins! I would vote for either of those two, joyously for Murkowski, the person who kicked Palin’s political teeth in…though it seems Palin has had some dental work done, and is trying again.

I watched some of the hearings and I though Jackson showed that she is very smart and that she can put up with a lot of idiocy without losing her temper.
