I’m bemused by Texas politics, where we have a Republican senator of Cuban ancestry, Rafael Cruz, who goes by Ted, being opposed by a potato-white Democrat of Irish ancestry, Robert Francis O’Rourke, who goes by Beto.

And that’s just the start.

If disrespect means asking about legal definitions and previous rulings, I must need a new dictionary.
