Steve, thanks, I think it’s great to actually converse with you and discover that are thoughtful and well spoken…sometimes agreeing with a cartoon, sometimes not. Often I wonder which of three or four possible ideas you are trying to communicate, today’s being a prime example…but thanks for speaking up. Well done.
All civilizations need to have some form of policing of the criminally bent 20% of the population. Our problem is that 20% of our police are violently bent bullies exercising their inherent power excessively, even brutally, and occasionally fatally. What’s the solution? Police policing…and that my friends is the conundrum…
Varvel, it’s just a stupid cartoon. Inanely inflammatory just to rack up comments. Do you have any journalistic integrity? Show me some…still waiting.
Payne, another off point, cheap shot with lame artwork. Why don’t you even try for better?
The answer: if you want to make a lot of money, build something very tall and charge Americans a bunch of money to climb it. Works every time.
Dear Professor Wiz, Loved your long essay. It was thought provoking though somewhere between improbable and impossible with today’s political parties. But what about a new American Party that’s generally centrist, that so many of us disillusioned former Republicans and lots of reasonable Democrats could embrace? Isn’t that more a more probable groundswell of political correction: throw All the old bums out? Divide the either/or voting process? Ross Perot did it, just not enough. Your thoughts?
Quite a picture of Trump’s legacy and his criminally negligent leadership. Wish we could prosecute him for the 500,000 deaths he could have prevented. We got Chauvin for only one…
Uh…no we don’t…we haven’t.
As an old aviation navigator, if we had changed our “climate course” about 5 degrees in the 1970’s we would be fine now instead of needing an impossible 180 course change now. It’s criminally ironic that our legislators failed to heed the science back then. It’s criminal now that we don’t demand it. Our children should prosecute us…
The partisan bickering and refusal to cooperate leaves me wondering if the “democratic republic” that we have descended into really is the least worst system of government. How about a benevolent dictator? Where can we find one?
