Been there, done that.

“Did I get the mail? No. Did I get the mail? No. Did I get the mail? No. Why is it after midnight?”

{sarcasm} gee, what holiday would that be?

I guess it’s (as it were) “horse of fabit” that a Plugger goes up to the mailbox on a daily basis, even on holidays when there is no mail delivery.;D

I lived across the street from a man, who on holidays would walk down to the end of the driveway by the mailbox, hands on hips he would look up the street, then down, like the mail truck had snuck past him. He did it every time! :D

You’re a plugger if you get mail?

That’s ok. You can get the mail you forgot to pickup from yesterday! Oh ya!

I do that on Sundays, even. I do appreciate this strip reminding me it’s a holiday, though. :)

You also wounder why the flag is still up., so you check to see if the outgoing mail was picked up; until the third trip.

I have mail on Holidays…. when I don’t pick it up the day before..

My wife works for the State, so we have a calendar with all of the holidays marked. It gets confusing sometimes because she’s on 4/10s.

Why has Comics Kingdome been so hard to bring up for the past couple of weeks?

Has anyone else having trouble with it?

We have one of those communal mailbox nests about 4 houses down from ours, and on bad weather days I am grateful that USPS has the Informed Delivery site so I can check to see if I got any mail before strolling down to the box.

You’re a Plugger if you think most of the “holidays” are a joke. It is great if you are paid to not work, I never had one of those kinds of jobs. Always had people tell me how great it was though.

I make two trips to my mailbox on holidays. Once in the morning to put out my American flag on the mailbox post and once at sundown to bring it in.

I pick up my mail about one per week, or I should say I clean out the junk once per week.

Did it today.

I’m almost a Plugger. I only had to go to the Post Office once today to remember it was a holiday (I tried to open the door and it was still locked)

Came downstairs today (2/21/22) and went to do my second favorite task of the day these days – bringing in the mail. I had the plastic sandwich bag on my hand (cheaper than plastic gloves and fit my small hand better) and the large plastic zip to place the mail in when I took it out of the box (husband has me cover my hand to take the mail in and leave the mail in a sealed bag for a day these days before opening it – down from letting sit in a bag for almost a week early in the pandemic) and was getting my jacket on to open the door and take the one step out – when husband came down – “You do remember today is a holiday?”

Darn, the best part of the day canceled by a holiday!
