It’s a shame she was so close and did not make it. My mother-in-law hit 100 in July. We were all nervous ahead of time in case she did not make it. Very nice tribute guys!
Just in the last week or so of 2021, so many luminaries from so many fields left us: Betty White, that great trailblazing woman of entertainment; Archbishop Desmond Tutu, that holy man of peace and justice: Harry Reid, that stalwart and hard knuckle politician; John Madden, that hard-hitting athlete and commentator.
My wife and I just watched the 2008 reunion of the MARY TYLER MOROE cast on Oprah. They were drinking a toast to Ted Knight, the only one at the time who was gone. In just the fourteen years since, all the rest have left us. Mary herself in 2017, then Valerie Harper and Georgia Engel in 2019, and all in this year Cloris Leachman, Gavin MacLeod, Ed Asner and the last, Betty White. One of the best casts ever assembled in television history.
Thanks for the tribute to Betty. Just a few days ago I was watching some of her skits with Johnny Carson, they were hilarious together. I remember seeing her on his show back in the day, when he told her she was somewhere between Mother Teresa and a call girl but he wasn’t quite sure where.

I only heard of Betty White’s passing about an hour ago. She would’ve been 100 on January 17. But, man, she had a good, long life and career.

I am amazed that you were able to add in the Betty White tribute as quickly as you did. Well done.

My fond memories of Betty White start with “Life with Elizabeth”, 1952-1955. Thanks, Betty, for a lifetime of laughs.

For all we know, Dad was 100 when he passed away. His birthdate was changed in records so he could leave Poland with his family.

My mom died right before the apocalypse. But nerd that I am, I had to do the math. Betty White lived two days longer than my mom.
Happy New Year, Fran and Betty!

Betty White was one of the first TV actors I remember. My folks watched the sitcom she starred in in the early ’50s.
