Lot of old folks type themes lately. Something must be up.

Pop has a lady friend?

Tempus fugit.

You have a choice – grow old and be happy, or grow old and be miserable. In either case, you still grow old. (if you’re lucky)

So! There are two glasses on the table near Gus when daughter Mary Lou enters his darkened room. In the last panel Mary Lou holds one of the glasses while “pop” reminisces about lipstick on drinking glasses from his restaurant days. Her surprised expression indicates that he may be hinting at a lady visitor!

We shall see. Perhaps!

I hope Gus has a lady friend visiting. It would be weird if he had to admit he uses lipstick.

I was hoping someone had a good way of getting lipstick off glasses and would offer it.

Some pleasures that may still be available to seasoned citizens, as Rush used to call us: Dogs, Grandchildren, good neighbors and good friends, kind words to folks who need them. I’m 74, and though I have issues, I’m still able to walk the dogs, chat with neighbors and (if it’s a good one) remain awake while watching a movie. No, I’m not young anymore and I never will be, but I have had a few dollars to put in education accounts for the grandkids. Not enough, but something. And I remember the words from a T-Shirt I got on my 40th birthday from someone who knew me well: I may grow older, but I refuse to grow up. Have a great day.

Pop is really old. His daughter really isn’t. I’m 49 with a 3.5 year old, so this is how I see my future, if my daughter doesn’t STEM.
