Then there’s that old sexist joke about the barn where the guys all gather on one side, and the golfers can’t hit the other side…

Is there a dude side of a barn?

Have been told that driving range balls are deliberately dumbed down.

Or a thing is wide as a barn door, let’s paint it barn red, thing is big as a barn, are you gonna run around the barn before you get to the point? and my mother’s favorite Do you have to act like you LIVE in a barn?!!? I guess it connects to our mostly agricultural beginnings.

A friend of mine used one of those allusions, and I said, That’s a rural idiom. He said, Who you calling a rural idiom!!.

Participants could get written and video documentation that they can hit the broad side of a barn in case someone says that they can’t.

In 80+ years, I’ve heard/used the expression too many times to count … seriously, not once with regard to golf.

With my golf skills, I’d need to be inside the barn to hit the broadside.
