Mom should know better by now. Tell Calvin that you and Hobbes went the Burntwood Tavern. You had the Italian chicken salad; Hobbes had the cedar salmon.
I’m sorry, but when my girls were little, if one of them asked me if I remembered to feed their favorite stuffie, not only would I have said yes, I would have told them the menu.
I always loved how in the earlier strips whenever Calvin talked his mouth was open about as wide as it could go. Later on he must have learned about inside and outside voices.

I thought that stuffed animals lived on a diet of bad dreams that they consumed when the child was sleeping.;-D

Hobbes requested bbq sauce.

Calvin, he told me that he likes Lee & Perrins’. Ordinary steak sauce just is too pedestrian for him.

Hobbes wants a sauce with a bit of POUNCE!

Hey! Hobbes is so weakened with hunger he let you through the door…….
(I think this is pre-bounce toons, but anything for a gag)

The way Calvin’s face is being drawn recently is quite unpleasant.

Wait, a day where he isn’t tackled by Hobbs? I sense a disturbance in the force.

Perhaps Calvin’s mother should’ve said yes. Then Calvin’s imagination would’ve been satisfied.

Just roll around the floor of the slaughter house and go for a dip in the shark tank at the aquarium.

It’s too bad we never got to see Calvin in his teen years and/or later. That would be interesting. To see how this plays out.

Mom: Why, no Calvin, I wouldn’t do something like that. Think of all the flies or bugs that would attract to your room.

If I was Hobbes, I’d just want Calvin thoughly cleaned…maybe a bit of ketchup, for color.

At least Mom didn’t answer, “Pick up your damned jacket, you lazy slob! I have enough to do around here without constantly cleaning up after you!”
