Every year we have been getting new record numbers of fires here in California and every year we get new records for the biggest fires, and this year we are joined by Oregon, Washington and Utah. This year the fire season is just getting started and we already have new records for the largest firs and the most fires and we have the whole rest of the season ahead of us.
In the Southern Hemisphere, new record fires in Australia year after and also Brazil, as we literally set fire to the Amazon rain forest and destroy the lungs of the planet, the greatest source of oxygen on Earth.
[Note: I see heavily armed paramilitary militia Moms driving their seventeen-year-old juvenile delinquents across state lines after curfew with weapons they are too young to own in that state, to “PROTECT PROPERTY” of strangers, but I don’t see them crossing state lines to PROTECT PROPERTY from fires … I think it’s all about shooting people.]
While the west is burning, the Midwest is flooding and the Gulf Coast is getting record hurricanes year after year.
But nah, climate change is a hoax, as Big Carbon — the sellers of finite filthy fossil fuels — jerk around the uneducated, gullible suckers who are so ignorant they don’t even know the difference between “weather” (local, short term) and “climate” (wide area, long-range).
Joe Biden rightly described Trump as a “climate arsonist.” Trump, who says “Science doesn’t know,” is fiddling while the West burns and other states are flooded or blown away in hurricanes. Actually, Nero did not fiddle while Rome burned — the violin would be invented more than a thousand years later. Nero played the “LYRE” (pronounced the same as “LIAR”) — a much more appropriate symbol for Donald Trump, who is a maestro on the LIAR.
And don’t forget the hurricanes! Sally is looking to be a mid-sized problem (as hurricanes go), but there are several more warming up in the Atlantic (I use the phrase thoughtfully).
Reality sucks and presents us with issues that require thought and hard work to solve … let’s instead create an alt-reality fairy tale where these issues won’t affect us. /s
There have been major fires on the West Coast since the dawn of time. In fact those iconic Red Wood forest have evolved a mechanism to survive most fires.
Are “we” polluting our earth.. absolutely.. but the climate changes.. and no one knows just how fast that happens as the last dregs of the last ice age disappear.
And yet news coverage is only of the fires, and their effects on humans. Barely a word about the many, many actions which have brought about this worldwide apocalyptic catastrophe.
I don’t think that storms should have nice names like Sally. Rather, they should be given the names of people who have caused a lot of misery and destruction. For instance, we could have Hurricane Hitler, or Pol Pot, or Stalin, etc.

Trump is saying that there is no climate change, it’s just the heat from the fires.

Most of the fires are on federal land, if only some one took responsibility for them….

Trump’s pants have been on fire the whole time. That can’t be helpful.

In California trump disputed the scientist by claiming the science on climate change is not clear.

Not only is it “easy”, but it’s “fun” to place blame on anything but the cause.

Amazing how much the map of the USA on its side looks like Mitch McConnel’s face.

Huh. This is the first time I’ve seen a map of the USA anthropomorphized showing Florida as a chin instead of … well, you know …

Could have drawn in the hurricanes in the Gulf like Trump spewing out Covid-19 without a mask. Great cartoon though.
